Supplier Development Manager at Alstom

Purpose

• Ensure the Industrial Development and program management of Key Suppliers in order to increase their competitiveness and ability to continuously improve conditions to satisfy current and/or future projects. The selection and development of these Key Suppliers support the Sourcing and Enterprise Development strategy to reach the contractual "local content objectives" of Gibela. The role reports to the Senior Supplier Development Manager.

Responsibilities

• Get the formal commitment from the Supplier Top management to be fully engaged in the development and provide all necessary support
• Provide a complete diagnosis of the Supplier industrial maturity based on the identified roadmaps: Management, Industrialisation, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality and Shop floor
• Define the necessary breakthrough Objectives to improve Supplier performance.
• Develop program plans that incorporate all the development needs/gaps identified in order to fulfil production requirements.
• Execute on the developed plan.
• Ensure the plan includes weaning the supplier off Gibela support ensuring successful capability and capacity transfer.
• Weekly and monthly reporting at the Supplier and at Gibela with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Engineering qualification desirable
• Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience

Technical Knowledge/Competencies

• Industrial basics and tools: Technical drawings-specifications, Process FMEA, Quality Control Plan, Method Times, Line Balancing,
• Work Instructions
• Measure of QCD Performance, Stock Management, Line feeding, Production Planning, On Time Delivery
• Lean toolbox concepts: VSM, Added Value / Non-Added Value, Waste eradication, Push/Pull Flow, 5S, SMED
• Production Processes knowledge in various commodities: SMW, Machining, Cabling, Welding, Assembly, Special Processes
• Fluent in English: Oral & written
• Quality Management Systems
• Risk Identification and mitigation
• CAD and other drawing packages
• Product/process optimization
