Systems Engineer at Altron Managed Solutions

Job Description

We are looking for a Specialist: Systems Engineer to be responsible for providing specialist, high-level technical advice and support for the installing, testing, tuning, optimising, diagnosing problems, repairing, upgrading and maintaining both externally and internally supplied hardware and system software such as operation systems, data management products, office automation products, embedded systems, and other utility enabling software and related equipment.   Responsible for high-level problem resolution of complex problems and system security policy implementation and monitoring.  May maintain an adequate spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems and component parts used in repair work. Prepares progress reports for all work performed.

This job also works directly with our valued end customers and ensuring that their systems perform optimally. Ensuring service levels are maintained to the highest standards via formal ticket resolution and change control procedures. 

Key responsibilities:

• Proactively reviews and monitors multiple solution environments to identify issues with system performance that could impact backup job processing and success rates. Alerts team members of any issues that may need to be escalated for more detailed investigation
• Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
• Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed
• Leverage internal technical expertise, including peers, mentors, knowledge base, community forums and other internal tools, to provide the most effective solutions to customer issues. 
• Experience in Virtualization & Cloud computing will be preferred

• Dell EMC Information Storage and Management
• Microsoft Azure Administrator
