The supervisor role will be required to observe and assess student teachers that are studying the Bachelor of Education in the Foundation Phase, the Intermediate Phase and the Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development at The IIE.
The supervisor is required to visit a student teacher once at a particular school and mark their associated Portfolios of Evidence.
The supervisor is required to provide developmental feedback and support the student teacher through a 4–5-week school-based work integrated learning.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education (Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, or related field).
Honours or Master’s degree in Education (advantageous).
Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood Development, Foundation Phase, or Intermediate Phase.
Previous experience in teacher supervision, mentoring, or academic support will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and pedagogical best practices.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and guide student development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and report-writing skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport (essential for school visits).
