    Head Of Academics

    Job Purpose:

    • Direct management of academic delivery and overseeing the management of academic programmes under the supervision of the principal. The mandate includes managing the operational efficiency of the academic team and overseeing the student support function.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Creates and manages the implementation of the campus academic delivery plan with Programme Managers, Teaching and Learning Specialist, Educational Technologist, Lecturers, Junior Lecturers, Information Specialist and Assistant Information Specialist.

    Quality Assurance

    • Implementation of academic policies
    • Approval of students’ academic requests (exception apps)

    Student Wellness Manager

    Job Purpose:

    • Rosebank College is looking for a passionate individual to join its Student Wellness team.     Part-Time Engineering Lecturer

    The IIE MSA Campus has a vacancy for a Part-time Engineering Lecturer in the following fields:

    • Economic Decision Making for Sustainability: This module will provide students with a solid foundation in Economics to make managerial decisions.
    • Embedded Systems: The purpose of this module is to provide students with the knowledge of the tools used in developing an embedded system in relation to different system platforms in order to develop embedded systems.
    • Power Electronics: The purpose of this module is to expand on the fundamentals of the use of high-power electronic devices and circuits to develop knowledge of the effect that high-power electronic devices have on peripheral systems and the adverse effects of distorting the quality of electricity supply.
    • Signal Processing: The purpose of this module is to provide students with the knowledge and skills in signal processing to apply these to various scenarios.

    • Rural and Urban Infrastructure 2B: The purpose of this module is to provide students with an introduction, background and context for rural and urban infrastructure development. It introduces them to settlement patterns and other key elements of development that forms the basis for infrastructure design and implementation.
    • Society and Practice 2B: The purpose of this module is to enhance the students' understanding of the legal aspects of engineering practice by reviewing codes of conduct and professional responsibility according to regulations. It further introduces technologies appropriate to developing economies.
    • Structural Engineering 2B: The purpose of this module is to provide students with the knowledge of limit state design, material and load factors and how these are related to the design of structures and structural elements.
    • Water Engineering 2B: The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the key elements of water engineering and to develop their appreciation of the water cycle, fluid mechanics, and open channel flow. This will be applied in subsequent water engineering design and applications.

    Competencies Required:

    • The primary purpose of this position is the development and delivery of effective teaching on qualifications and all associated academic activities such as student engagement and support that will promote student success and learning. This includes responsibility for modules from conceptualisation through to assessment and responsibility for an integrated, effective curriculum within qualifications. Participation in scholarship such as research is also required. Effective lecturers need to be active members of the institutional academic community, contributing to and participating in the development, effective governance, and reputation development of the institution.
    • Lecture/practicum preparation, delivery and all related teaching and assessment activities across the required modes of delivery.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:

    • Minimum a BEng/BIng/BSc (Eng) and a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline. Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) would be highly advantageous.

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

    • Ideally minimum of 2 years in teaching and experience gained from similar higher education role at a recognised tertiary institution or;
    • Alternatively a minimum of 5 years in related industry experience.

    Minimum Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education (Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, or related field).
    • Honours or Master’s degree in Education (advantageous).
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood Development, Foundation Phase, or Intermediate Phase.
    • Previous experience in teacher supervision, mentoring, or academic support will be an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and pedagogical best practices.

    Performs routine clerical duties to assist the Librarian and thereby provides a quality service to the students.

    Lecturer Electrical Engineering (Part Time)

    Job Purpose:

    • To teach/lecture allocated modules.
    • To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Academic Team.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.
    • Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre
    • Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
    • Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.
    • Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation.
    • Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.
    • Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result.
    • Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.
