Team Leader (Repairs Workshop) at Metso

• We are seeking a Team Leader (Repairs Workshop), to join our Repairs Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating jobs for Strip, Assessment and Assembly.
• They will manage team members and prioritize work throughout the department. They will also ensure HSE procedures are in place, implemented and enforced.
• In this position, you will report to The Head of Repairs – Africa.
• This position is mainly located in Alrode, Gauteng.

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

• You will join the Repairs Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as the Foreman and Supervisors, other Department Managers, External Suppliers and Customers when witnessing test runs.
• You will manage relationships and communication between internal departments as well as manage team members.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Team Leader with monitoring and guiding improvements in work performance
• Lead a small multi skilled team
• Time and attendance
• Keep tight control of clock times and overtime
• Control overtime and discipline poor time keeping              
• Supervise workers and distribute workload
• Ensure that all workers understand instructions and carry out their jobs correctly
• Priorities and distribute workload
• Delegate responsibilities   
• Allocate overtime to achieve delivery dates
• Checking of drawings                                           
• Ensure that everyone works according to Metso drawings and specifications
• Always ensure supervision of work
• Assemble of crushers
• Assist with the assembly and checking of equipment

Quality control

• Check final readings and measurements are correct
• Approve inspection reports and test run sheets
• Check and release Data Books
• Ensure jobs are complete and packed in accordance with packing list, prior     to    dispatch                                                         

Ordering of consumables

• Ordering of components and materials to perform assembly bay duties 
• Drafting of evaluation reports
• Drafting of assembly evaluation reports on new assemblies
• Manage Inspection of parts used on assemblies
• Measuring and recording dimension on assembly information sheets
• Check interferences before assembly                          

Checking of paint

• Check and record paint thickness
• Decides whether thickness is acceptable                     

Pressure testing

• Check pressure testing and record accordingly
• Decide whether to account or reject                            

Test runs

• Performing test runs on machines and hub joins
• Decide whether to accept or reject                   
• Signing off completed jobs
• Can complete assembly jobs
• Decide whether or not acceptable
• Responsible for health and safety in the department
• Leading by example and give guidance on technical problems

WHO YOU ARE

• Matric (Grade 12)
• N3 or higher
• Qualified Artisan
• 10 years’ experience in crusher assembly and testing
