Technical Architect - Expression of Interest

We have a potential opportunity for a Technical Architect available at our Johannesburg offices for a Project within the Insurance industries. The project in question is based on a Guidewire Implementation. 

The technical architect is responsible for solving architectural issues and, in some cases, ensuring consistency and compliance with enterprise-wide architectural standards. This role is often filled by one or more people who have spent most of their time as integration developers. Guidewire has found that technical architects are more effective when they perform hands-on integration work, rather than simply providing oversight.

Technical architects complete these key activities:

• Design overall integration architecture
• Review high-level technical designs
• Research and solve complex technical problems involving several systems or integrations
• Provide advice on technology selections, such as middleware, security, platform, etc.
• Ensure compliance and consistency with enterprise system environments

Technical architects will need these skills to effectively fulfill their role:

• Detailed understanding of the insurer's overall systems environment and the technologies involved in the implementation project
• Experience programming in either Java, C#, C++, C or other similar programming languages
• Experience working with web-based enterprise applications
• Experience with other modern technologies such as SQL, XML, and scripting languages
• Experience with modern integrated development environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or RAD
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHubh
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to find solutions for challenging technical issues
