Key Performance Areas
Assist with TETRA, DMR/Analogue radio repairs, maintenance, and fieldwork at City depots and neighbourhood-watch sites, including the wiring, installation, and commissioning of new radio equipment in Council vehicles, ensuring all work meets approved technical standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
Assist Technicians with the installation, configuration, and basic testing of TETRA and DMR base radios and repeater site infrastructure.
Perform physical inspection checks and general housekeeping at radio sites, including equipment rooms and high-site facilities, to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
Perform basic maintenance activities at repeater sites, including routine maintenance of masts and towers, power supply systems, and standby generators, as well as carrying out generator refuelling in accordance wit safety and operational procedures
Perform General Radio Administration which include minor job related reports, material requirements and daily inspections of the department's service vehicles and creating and booking of work/ time on SAP.
Perform asset management functions to ensure that all radio asset movements are accurately recorded tracked, and properly managed
