    Junior Project Manager

    Requirements

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, preferably a Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma plus Advanced Diploma
    • At least two (2) years’ relevant Project Management experience
    • Prior project management experience in construction related disciplines/built environment is recommended
    • Previous experience in ERP project monitoring systems is recommended
    • Computer literacy in MS Office, the ability to use standard organisational computerised tools (ERP, MS Visio, Excel, Projects) to generate and navigate through reports and documents is advantageous
    • Valid registration/certification/designation with a professional body in the project and or the built environment would be advantageous
    • A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence
    • Willing to work outside of normal working hours in different geographic locations to meet project specific requirements and deadlines
    • The incumbent must be able to perform on-site project execution and monitoring tasks.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Use project management frameworks and methodologies to guide the implementation of project phases, processes, activities and resources
    • Apply customised project management standards, tools, techniques, systems and processes in line with corporate guidelines
    • Perform project, programme and portfolio decision support services functions to inform project decision making, problem-solving, design and change management processes

    Graduate Trainee - Industrial Engineering (3-Year Term Contract)

    Requirements

    • Unemployed South African graduates below the age of 35 years to participate in the National Treasury funded Infrastructure Skills Development Grant (ISDG) Training programme within the City of Cape Town on a three years’ contract.
    • Diploma/ Advanced Diploma/B Tech/B.Eng/BSc/ MTech/ M.Eng/MSc/PHD qualification in Industrial Engineering.
    • Eligible to register with a relevant statutory professional council (ECSA) as a professional Engineer/Technologist.
    • A code B drivers’ licence will be an added advantage

    Key Performance Areas

    • Produce tailor-made training plan in line with professional council with the Mentor and Complete the structured program to build competencies for professional registration
    • Participate on research and capital/operational projects relevant to statutory professional council (ECSA).
    • Participate in all ISDG related activities and engage with different engineering disciplines
    • Provide monthly and quarterly training progress reports
    • All reports should be conducted in a professional manner and in the interest of the City of Cape Town.
    • Perform various routine activities in line with training plans

    Professional Officer - Finance

    Requirements

    • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Finance
    • A minimum of 2-5 years’ relevant finance experience
    • Advanced Excel and SAP PPM experience would be an added advantage
    • A valid driver’s licence is recommended

    Key Performance Areas

    Professional Officer - Invasive Species

    Requirements

    • Relevant B Degree
    • Minimum 2 – 5 years’ relevant experience in managing invasive species, particularly in an urban area
    • Experience in liaison with private land owners, communities and partners would be advantageous
    • Proven sound ecological knowledge of invasive species
    • Working knowledge and understanding of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMBA) and alien & invasive species regulations
    • Computer proficiency (MS Office Applications)

    Principal Professional Officer - Water Treatment Specialist

    Requirements

    • BEng or BSc (Eng) degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering.
    • Preferred BEng or BSc (Eng) degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering with a Master’s Qualification in water treatment.
    • 8 years or more relevant post-graduate experience.
    • Preferred 8 years or more relevant experience post registration.

    Technical Assistant- Field Radios

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.

    • Perform physical inspection checks and general housekeeping at radio sites, including equipment rooms and high-site facilities, to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
    • Perform basic maintenance activities at repeater sites, including routine maintenance of masts and towers, power supply systems, and standby generators, as well as carrying out generator refuelling in accordance wit safety and operational procedures
    • Perform General Radio Administration which include minor job related reports, material requirements and daily inspections of the department's service vehicles and creating and booking of work/ time on SAP.
    • Perform asset management functions to ensure that all radio asset movements are accurately recorded tracked, and properly managed
