Key Performance Areas
Coordinate and compile of the annual operating & capital budgets to ensure that the Directorate's budget meet the corporate requirements, needs for operations and is aligned to its service delivery strategies.
Consolidate monthly management reports on actual financial performance against budget
Coordinate financial and audit matters by ensuring that consistent and reliable financial details are in hand, and an effective and efficient channel of financial communication is maintained and accessible
Monitor capital and operating expenditure for the departments according to relevant legislation and Council policy and procedures
Manage the staff that provide a Financial Support function to the departments within the Directorate to ensure compliance with MFMA requirements as well as Corporate and Directorate policies, procedures and practices
Assist in the provision of oversight and administration functions on financial management, budgeting and budgetary control, financial month or year-end procedures, audit queries and tariff review processes within the Future Planning & Resilience Directorate
