    PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide an Employee Relations service to all stakeholders

    • Reviews and manages deviations from the budget on month-to-month basis.
    • Participates and ensures that the budget for Marula Platinum is aligned to the Marula Platinum strategy as well as the group strategy.
    • Proactively identifies potential issues affecting operational and financial performance and takes corrective action with the support of the Marula leadership team.
    • Ensures sound balance sheet management on an on-going basis.
    • Offers assistance and support in order to revive profitability on all operating units including identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and manage costs.
    • Ensures timeous preparation and reviews all the board and other committee papers for any ad hoc presentations and approval purposes on Marula Platinum
    • Provides leadership, management and oversight to ensure that the following commercial functions are strategically aligned, effectively maintained and enhanced:
    • Procurement and purchase to pay
    • Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of fair business practices aligned to Group policy and procedures.
    • Ensures sustainability through good corporate governance, business partnerships and supplier relations in line with business objectives and needs.
    • Monitors compliance deals with any noted deviations and provides feedback.
    • Community development and compliance
    • Strategizes and manages a portfolio of projects to deliver benefit to stakeholders and host communities including Local Economic Development (LED) projects for SLP compliance, Socio Economic Development (SED) and Corporate Social Investments (CSI) Initiatives.
    • Develops and applies measurements to determine success of outcomes of various stakeholder and community engagements, community investment and impact management initiatives.
    • Participates at an appropriate level in forums with labour/unions, government, communities and other stakeholders around the Marula operations.
    • Provides support to the Executive: Marula in dealing with the various stakeholders and managing the various reporting requirements

    Special Projects

    • Provides financial support to special projects especially where these projects require tax, accounting and governance inputs and gain input from the Group functions where required

    Stakeholder relations

    • Builds, supports and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
    • Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved

    Payroll

    • Oversight of the Payroll function to ensure that employees are remunerated accurately and timeously.
    • Assist in the implementation and management of Marula reward system's, ensuring that it is aligned to Group policies and all procedures are adhered too

    Reporting

    • Reports on performance to internal and external stakeholders on a daily-, monthly-, quarterly- and bi-annual basis and ad-hoc basis.
    • Reports and/or escalates major unwanted events, critical incidents or key identified risks as required.

    Other

    • Sources the required external specialized legal services for Marula, internally or externally, with the support of Group Legal team, as and when required.
    • Ensures that the service received from Group functions e.g., Information Technology, HR support, group financial and management accounting support etc, is actively managed and fit for purpose.
    • Participates at an appropriate level in forums with labour/unions, government, communities and other stakeholders around the Marula operations.
    • Provides support to the Executive: Marula Operations in dealing with the various stakeholders and managing the various reporting requirements
