    Technical Manager

    Job Function:

    The manager will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved. Admin duties will include and consist of daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections with accurate reports. Maintain high level of HSSEQ. Liaise and negotiate with service providers. Must manage the maintenance cost against budget daily.

    Key Performance Areas:

    This person will manage all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance scheduled aspects such as:

    • Comply with all Legal Standards, Tanker Services Policies & Procedures, and Customer Compliance.
    • Do Vehicle & Site Inspections.
    • COR & Licensing.
    • All service types with kilometre monitoring.
    • Break roller tests.
    • 6 Monthly Meter Tests.
    • Annual Meter Calibrations.
    • 3 Yearly Statutory Hydrostatic Pressure Tests, Pressure Vessels.
    • Tyre Surveys, Pressure Analysis, Rubber Audits and Other Tyre Maintenance issues.
    • Manage Kaltire as per our Maintenance Procedure Manual and agreed SLA.
    • Lube Stock control with formal daily reconciliation.
    • On site JMR store Stock Control & Supply Monitoring.
    • Managing Suppliers & Contractors for conformance.
    • Waste disposal are done as per laid down procedures and controls as per SLA
    • Manage daily control sheet, Plan Staff Activities and Work allocated daily.
    • Monitor The Workshop Registers and all Inspections

    Requirements:

    The Maintenance Manager manages all day-to-day maintenance aspects of a fleet:

    • Must be able to properly prioritise, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
    • Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
    • Must do annual suppliers audits with action plans (HEMP) (RAP).
    • Must be able to manage the budget of a fleet maintenance operation.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
    • Must have strong computer skills such as Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Must have technical competence with heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
    • Must display initiative, professionalism, candour and tact at all times.
    • Must understand the OSH act and have a broad knowledge of HSSE.
    • Must have interpersonal skills with IR experience.
    • Must be willing to travel on a planned and unplanned basis.
    • Must inspect all vehicles for legal / customer compliance.
    • Must be integral part of all audit processes internal and external.
    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years’ on the floor experience.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in Fleet Maintenance Management.
    • Code EC with PRDP.
    • At least a minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of gas tankers and related equipment.
