    Technical Product Manager

    The Role

    The Flash Group is looking for an experienced, Creative, high-potential, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking Technical Product Manager to join the Aggregation division. You will have a high degree of ownership over product growth and customer experience. We are looking for someone who can flow effortlessly between the big picture vision of ‘Making People’s Lives Easier’ and the critical details needed to bring a product to market in the informal retail space. The successful candidate will be customer focused and have a passion for managing and growing products that are impactful. This person will thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace ambiguity with critical, analytical thinking, and drive end-to-end product growth with buy in from key stakeholders. He / She will be customer centric and have a good understanding of what it is to work backwards from the customer. The Product Manager is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products.

    You will be responsible for (but not limited to):

    • The products and its success.  Customer need identification, Design, workflow, tech solution design, solution output(delivery) End to End. Customer centristically.
    • Creativity converted into out the box product leading into solution and commercial success.
    • The growth of product turnover and penetration into the market.
    • Understanding Marketplace solutions and basic principles, API’s UI, GUI, Mobile Application,  technical solutioning.
    • Commercial viability analysis, commercial design and proposed Sales pitch.
    • Commercial viability monitoring, expansion, growth customization and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborating with numerous cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical) to coordinate and manage product changes and growth.
    • Being part of new tech process, including daily stand-ups and all Cell meetings.
    • Maximizing business value (the “in”) from a product
    • Work closely with divisions that monetize the product or service to assist in maximizing the “out”
    • Developing detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories, in collaboration with our product development teams
    • Regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control
    • Identifying opportunities to accelerate customer acquisition, grow engagement, and increase product usage
    • Collaborating with Group Product our Marketing team to identify key growth opportunities and develop the strategies and tactics to capture and measure the value of those opportunities
    • Gathering market research and studying industry trends
    • Creative, Product and Technical Thought leader .

    You will need to have:

    • 10+ years relevant product or technical management experience as well as at least 5+ years commercial and financial experience within a Tech or FinTech environment. Experience within a Fintech, Retail, Bank or wholesale environment will be a major advantage.
    • Excellent technical competency / good understanding of System Architecture and the constraints thereof
    • Creative out the box solution and product design thinking ability.
    • Relevant tertiary qualification – Bcom Business Management / MBA BSC IT or any Tech / Commercial qualification.
    • Product or business model design experience will be an advantage
    • Experience managing multiple projects/products from concept to deployment.
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Strong EQ and business acumen
    • Strong ability to manage priorities and do self learning of the industry/product and relating concepts
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Negotiation skills to prioritize projects and get commitments from internal stakeholders, including product development teams and leaders at multiple levels across the organisation
    • Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams
    • An unparalleled bias for action with an ability to operate in an ambiguous, dynamic and fast paced environment with tight deadlines
    • An understanding of digital marketing channels and how to best leverage them for growth
    • Previous experience creating product campaigns
    • A passion for data driven decisions and customer experience
    • Ability to work with and influence remote teams

    You will need to demonstrate:

    • That you are a self-motivated individual with strong technical and analytical skills. (Candidates with growth focused product management and/or growth marketing experience preferred)
    • That you are flexible and accountable
    • Excellent team working skills
    • Initiative to ensure product lifecycle success
    • Strong design / innovation / product lifecycle skills
    • A mix of technical and creative talent in product management with a focus on growth and innovation
    • An affinity for, and examples of, data driven decisions which have enabled high growth in the past
    • Long, proven track record of analytical and quantitative skills and use of hard data to develop experimentation roadmaps
    • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to help the team succeed
