    Technical Sales Support - Comminution

    • The successful candidate will act as the comminution expert in Market Area Africa; working in conjunction with the various Comminution Product Groups (crushing & grinding) and Sales Managers to build campaigns, opportunity funnel, priorities, and solutions. He / She will also work closely with the tier 2 crushing and grinding Business Line technical sales support colleagues to deploy new product information, best practices, sales training and overall value argumentation for Metso Outotec’s comminution offering.

    Job Duties And Responsibilities

    • Responsible for supporting sales for defined comminution technologies in Market Area
    • Provides technical and product expertise support to sales managers, proposals team and customers
    • Review enquiries and determine the scope of supply, selection, and sizing of equipment to provide the optimum process solution. Agrees scope of sales cases with sales managers
    • Contributes to eliminating margin erosion by securing correct scoping of sales cases
    • Secures strong value propositions in sales cases to improve conversion rate
    • Act as the technical interlinkage between Market Area and Business Lines
    • Build strong networks and cooperate with all stakeholders (Customers, Sales, Proposals Management, Business Lines, Supply, Project Delivery, Services, Laboratories, etc)
    • Attend customer meetings and site visits
    • Hold and develop technical competence in relevant business lines / product groups.
    • Educate, lead and mentor others within the Minerals Africa team on Comminution products as required
    • Compliance with sales, proposal, and risk management processes and procedures.
    • Use of customer relationship management (Sales Force) tool
    • Supports sales funnel generation
    • Ensures data quality to enable accurate selection and sizing of equipment
    • Ensures value co-creation is effectively done with the customer
    • In collaboration with sales managers, leads the creation of value argumentation, proposition and win plan for sales cases
    • Understands the market, competition and industry best practices for the defined technologies and uses these insights to inform win strategies
    • Escalates issues to Tier 2 Technical Sales Support as required

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Engineering degree or diploma.
    • Mineral Processing qualification will be an advantage
    • At least 5 – 7 years of proven track record in a technical sales or product support role – experience in comminution will be an advantage
    • MS suite of products
    • Experience with simulation programs (e.g., Bruno / JKSIMET or similar) will be an advantage.
    • Experience with equipment sizing programs, particularly for crushers & mills.
    • Demonstrable record of strong technical acumen
    • Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment
    • Ability to read, interpret & use engineering drawings and specifications
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and meet deadlines
    • Strong team player
    • Ability to travel as required
    • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust
