A relevant B degree or National Diploma in Engineering
2 – 3 years’ relevant experience with a Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the water sector or Engineering planning and hydraulic models
Computer literacy – MS Office Suite, SAP
Incumbent should be physically fit and able bodied.
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Valid code B Driver’s License
Key Performance Areas
Assist in the compilation and updating of parts of the Water and Sanitation Integrated Master Plan and its Hydraulic models
To evaluate the ability of the infrastructure in order to service developments including assessment and processing of land use management, development applications, environmental applications and property management cases based primarily on the Master Plan as well as input from role player branches
Assist with developing and maintaining a medium-to long term Capital Requirement schedule
Assist in the planning, design and selection of specific pilot projects or for consultant appointments in the master planning field
Ensure specific general administration functions are performed
Assist in the alignment of the Integrated Master Plan to the Water Services Development Plan (WSDP) and the City's Planning and Development in the regional and national context.
Provide technical support to Strategic Documentation development and assist in ensuring that the department's strategies are planned, integrated and documented, appropriate business plans are available, adhered to and legal requirements are being complied with.
To develop highly-specialised skills, show interest in the computer –based hydraulic modelling and planning
Take part in Integrated Quality Management and H&S objectives of the unit
