    Principal Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • Relevant BSc / B degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional registration with ECSA
    • Minimum eight (8) years’ appropriate professional technical and managerial experience in the management of professional staff within the design and construction management of municipal services
    • Appropriate professional technical experience in the assessment of land-use applications and commenting in respect of engineering services
    • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering design standards relating to roads and storm water infrastructure, traffic engineering, project management and town planning principles
    • Good knowledge of town planning and environmental legislation applicable to land-use development
    • Civil engineering project management experience
    • A valid driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage a team of professionals, including senior professional officers, technicians, and students.
    • Manage, coordinate, and provide input on all land-use and development applications ensuring integration of development policies, road geometrics and storm water design standards
    • Provide input and facilitate development meetings with developers and/or their professional consultants

    NRG 103/24 Principal Technician

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in Building Construction
    • Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering
    • Technician (Pr Eng Techni)
    • At least eight (8) years’ relevant experience post ECSA registration
    • Computer literacy in MS Office
    • Code EB driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Assess the adequacy of procedures, systems and controls associated with capital and operational availability and utilisation
    • Evaluate current security and safety measures and correct deviations from set procedure
    • Draw up and establish technical details/specifications/budget estimates and requirements for a wide range of projects and capital projects
    • Manage the effective execution of maintenance of the functional area including the managing of contractors, tenders, RFQ’s associated with facilities management and substations, including tender specifications, to maximise the continual availability and serviceability facilities management within Electricity Services
    • Monitor attendance / conduct and output and address deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings/counseling and/or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel as well as contractors
    • Establish the adequacy and availability of personnel and contractors against agreed outcomes and motivate to the immediate manager for additional resources

    NRG 102/24 Maintenance Controller

    Requirements

    • Trade test Diesel or Petrol
    • Five (5) years’ relevant experience in Diesel or Petrol Trade post qualification
    • Computer literacy in view of Council focus on use of email and SAP systems
    • Valid Code EB driver's licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Daily interaction / input in the daily vehicle movement meeting regarding the status of outsourced work
    • Attend maintenance planning meetings, plans and schedules work to be outsourced as well ensuring a fair allocation of work to vendors
    • Arrange replacement vehicles for the operations when required in compliance with the service level agreement
    • Ensure that concise work specifications are compiled using technical information from senior superintendents from vehicle and hydraulic workshops, and given to vendors regarding maintenance standards required in compliance with laid down fleet management policies
    • Alignment of various maintenance tasks i.e. hydraulic maintenance tasks and statutory certification with mechanical servicing of vehicles and COF (Certificate of Fitness) and coordinate the execution thereof to minimise downtime on Electricity Services fleet
    • Liaise with quality assurance inspectors re inspection of outsourced work to ensure that the work to be executed is necessary, that quality standards are maintained and that the prices quoted are fair and reasonable and arrange authority for such repairs within financial delegated authorities
    • Insert the relevant information (quantitative/qualitative) and/or details of activities
    • Refer to work schedules and registers to re-prioritise such schedules where necessary.

    Head Non Motorised Transport/ Active Mobility

    Requirements

    • A relevant BEng or BSc Engineering degree with specialisation in Transport Planning and engineering
    • Eligibility for registration as Pr Eng
    • Eight (8) years’ relevant experience in the field of Public Transport and NMT planning and concept design
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • A valid driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Lead and manage the Non-Motorised Transport / Active Mobility Section including its staff and finances
    • Responsible for all deliverables and outputs of the section
    • Manage, plan, lead, organise, and prepare the development, review and update of policies, strategies, plans, norms and standards, in accordance with the corporate policy process
    • Prepare, and deliver concept and / or preliminary design and reports for NMT / Active Mobility projects in accordance with best practice and all relevant standard guidelines
    • Lead and initiate processes required for the appointment of Professional Service Providers

    Requirements

    • Minimum National diploma
    • Minimum of four (4) relevant years of experience in a Microsoft Enterprise Active Directory environment and Azure Active Directory (Entra-ID)

    Technician - Integrated Planning

    Requirements

    • A relevant B degree or National Diploma in Engineering
    • 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience with a Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the water sector or Engineering planning and hydraulic models
    • Computer literacy – MS Office Suite, SAP
    • Incumbent should be physically fit and able bodied.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Assist in the compilation and updating of parts of the Water and Sanitation Integrated Master Plan and its Hydraulic models
    • To evaluate the ability of the infrastructure in order to service developments including assessment and processing of land use management, development applications, environmental applications and property management cases based primarily on the Master Plan as well as input from role player branches
    • Assist with developing and maintaining a medium-to long term Capital Requirement schedule
    • Assist in the planning, design and selection of specific pilot projects or for consultant appointments in the master planning field

    Principal Technician

    Requirements

    • Minimum National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light current) or equivalent coupled with minimum 8 years of which 5 years is in a senior role in TETRA, Analogue and DMR Two-Way radios repair and maintenance in a Workshop environment.
    • Must be able to perform Two-Way Mobile radio installations in any Council vehicles as well as installations of repeaters in a High Site environment.
    • Must be able to operate Two-Way radio test set instruments.
