Minimum National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light current) or equivalent coupled with minimum 8 years of which 5 years is in a senior role in TETRA, Analogue and DMR Two-Way radios repair and maintenance in a Workshop environment.
Must be able to perform Two-Way Mobile radio installations in any Council vehicles as well as installations of repeaters in a High Site environment.
Must be able to operate Two-Way radio test set instruments.
Computer literacy.
A valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
Must be physically fit and able bodied to work at heights and to carry heavy equipment and tools.
Must be willing to work after-hours including overtime and standby
Key Performance Areas
Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and operation of the City's ETSI TETRA Radio Trunking Infrastructure including Subscribers and Analogue/DMR systems for the Neighbourhood-Watch and associated infrastructure.
Responsible for the calibration of Analogue and DMR radio systems to ensure compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements.
Undertakes technical designs and provides specifications.
Co-ordinates projects and leads project team.
Management and controlling movement of all related assets.
Programming, configuring and troubleshooting of radio equipment and systems.
Customer relationship management, to maintain sound business values with all stakeholders to ensure service delivery.
Undertakes tasks and supervision of sub-ordinates for programming, configuring, repairs, and hardware installations of related radio equipment.
