Technology Lead - Data Centre operations - Johannesburg at Infosys

Principal Responsibilities

• The Technical Specialist contributes to the Pre-Sales process by supplying product information in bids, proposals, or tenders. Providing technical support to client requests.
• Purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the client/clients, potentially across multiple geographies. Ensure effective and efficient management of requests in a timely manner, aligned to client SLA’s. Deliver against our internal and external clients’ needs and expectations and drive sales.
• Provide technical pre-sales support in articulating infrastructure design with in-depth product knowledge for Data Centre products/solutions. Additional knowledge across other product/solutions in other domains eg. Unified Collaboration, Network and Security solution would be advantageous.
• Drive solution sales by understanding clients’ technical needs, translating identified needs into solutions. Also advise clients on the best product approach for their needs.
• Pre-sales skill development on technologies of OEM which are identified such as Dell/EMC, HPE, Vmware, Cisco, and any other appropriate domain knowledge across other OEMs specific to Security vendors will also be an advantage.
• Proposal/Quotation Preparation

Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Quote requests that require technical support – Ensure timely response to all the qualified requests from solution perspective to ensure adherence to service SLA’s .
• Communicate with internal or external stakeholders for requirement gathering using phone or collaboration tools.
• Listen and lead the discussion with client for discovery of needs and information gathering, where required.
• Documentation of needs/requirement into solutions, validating with client and close off with a proposal also translating client business needs into technical solution.
• Craft initial bill of material / configuration for solutions. Identify the suitable models to be proposed based on client’s IT needs.
• Work with client, vendors and internal teams, responsible for end to end integration and design.
• Drawing of network diagram in Visio and prepare Power point presentation, in a structured manner translating business requirements into technical design, where required.
• The individual maintains a relationship with relevant vendors and will interact with them to request product information, pose queries or attend product updates
• The individual is also expected to be knowledgeable on and provide information relating to the product, including product guarantees, capacity, range selection and general operating conditions.
• Adherence to Pre-sales process and collaboration tools to communicate and deliver results.
• Able to perform self-research on new products within the supported OEMs in respond to every changing landscape of solution offering.
• Ensure all OEM certifications are maintained and renewed accordingly.
• The individual is expected to obtain vendor product certification for their particular product portfolio. Must provide at least vendor/OEM certifications across HPE/Dell Data Centre certifications.
• A tertiary qualification in Information Technology – diploma/degree.
• Years of experience - combined 3 years of presales, implementation and design experience.
• Possess excellent technical sales and communications skills.
• Have passion in new technologies and self-motivated learning.
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills
• Excellent MS Word, MS SharePoint, MS PowerPoint MS Excel skills.
• Minimum any one deep skills in technology tower for Data Centre and any additional tower (Networking, Security or Collaboration), will relevant Professional Certification such as:

1. HPE Compute Solutions (HPE ASE Proliant ML/DL/Blade Systems)
2. Dell PowerEdge Rack and Tower Solutions
3. Cisco UCS Blade and Server Solutions (Hyperflex an advantage)
4. VMware Certification
5. Any additional HPE/Dell Enterprise storage solutions an advantage

• Nice to have any of below certification:

1. Certified in any Gartner’s leader solution in Data Centre Storage, Server and Backup Solution in both traditional infrastructure and hyper converge environment
2. Knowledge and Certification in any Hyperscaler Cloud Providers.
3. Certified in any Gartner’s leader solution in Security solution such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet.
