Tipping and Mixing Operator at Nestle

Position Summary

• Receive, dose and consume oil, and lecithin. Mix and dose vitamins and minerals salts. Performing CIP and dry cleaning. Operate the Scanima. Add Rework as per request (when available)

A day in the life of...

Rework Handling

• Check the physical quantity and quality of rework received from warehouse to PSA and prepares it according  to the standard operating procedure.
• Prepares the rework mixing station prior to mixing the rework as per procedure.
• Mixes the rework according to the work instruction.
• Consume the rework on SAP as per standard operating procedure.
• Records the quantity of rework mixed / absorbed in the rework absorbed book.
• Summarize the rework absorbed per product per batch number and prepares a weekly rework absorbed  report and a monthly rework absorbed report.
• Carry out the rework stock count at least once a week on SAP as per procedure.
• Summarize the rework generated per product per batch number and prepares a weekly rework generated  report and a monthly rework generated report.

Hygiene & Housekeeping

• Ensure that the general housekeeping of the wet area is kept it in a heighest standard
• Carry out dry cleaning, wet cleaning & controlled wet cleaning as required as per SOP
• Cleaning of the drains, cleaning tools, filters and vacuum cleaners as per SOP

Quality

• Anticipates and reacts systematically to any potential problem in the area that may affect 
• Continuity of operation or quality of product in consultation with the team leader.
• Ensure cost of production reduction by operating the equipment as per SOP and by reducing 
• Rework and sweepings generated.
• Reports any incident or situation that may affect the quality of the final product

Safety

• Works in accordance with accepted safety practices and standards established by the company
• Reports unsafe conditions and practices to the team leader or the safety representative
• Supports safety programs, promotions and practices as set out by the safety committee
• Conducts / monitors safety aspects of all machines & equipments within the area of responsibility

General

• Monitor an Maintain the CIP chemicals levels in the Raw CIP chemicals tanks
• Receives and Offloads the CIP chemicals into the CIP tanks as per SOP
• Esure that storage of the CIP chemicals in the CIP tanks are as per SOP
• Do the stock counts of the vitamins and minerals salts in the SBVIT as per SAP
• Do the stock counts of the oil in the SBOIL as per SAP
• Participates in Mission Directed Work Teams (TPM AWG groups))
• Participates in Continuous Improvement Activities (CIA)
• Performs other duties assigned from time to time by Team Leader

What will make you successful

• Minimum Grade12 or equivalent with Math’s and Science
• 2 Year experience in FMCG or chemical industry 
• Technical qualification in chemical engineering will be an add advantage
