Trackless Dump Truck Operator at Gold Fields Limited

The Trackless Dump Truck Operator is accountable for the safe transporting of ore from loading areas to ore passes, achieving established daily production targets and, ensuring optimal safe and effective vehicle operating standards

Minimum Requirements:

• Matriculated or Equivalent
• Dump Truck (MH4368 / MH2010) Certificate
• At least 2 years experience in a mining environment
• Dover B result
• Drivers licence
• Secure full Gold Fields Security and Related Occupational Screening
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Key Competencies:

• Established personal safety delivery record
• Strong inter and intra-team collaboration skills
• Sound spoken and written English communication skills
• Completion of a machine appreciation awareness programme (O4R/M4R or equivalent)
• Ability to cope with ambiguity with high personal resilience and change adaptability
• Established problem-solving skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains Safety, Health and Environmental practices according to standards and procedures
• Does a pre-use inspection on this equipment by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to supervisor
• Performs basic maintenance on equipment e.g., top up engine oil-, water- and hydraulic oil, check for oil leaks and clean equipment according to standards and procedures
• Performs end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures e.g., parks the Dump Truck at the designated area, cleans equipment and reports to supervisor
• Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work
• Transporting ore from the loaded areas to the ore passes
