The duties of a trainee chef include:

• Preparing food and providing prompt, courteous and accurate service to all the customers (both internal and external) as per the set standards.
• Ensuring that the quality & quantity standards of preparations and presentations are adhered to in the section.
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness of your area at all times.
• Judging quality of raw material & providing quality finished products.
• Following safety rules and procedures at work.
• Carrying out any additional tasks as assigned.
• Maintaining awareness of food cost, ensure minimum spoilage and wastage at all times

Requirements

• 1 year’s relevant experience.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Team orientation and ability to drive results
• No previous tertiary qualification in professional cookery
