We are looking for an experienced Transport Controller who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the efficient movement of goods, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective deliveries. Working across the warehousing and transport business units, and in close collaboration with internal departments.
Key Performance Areas:
Plan and optimize primary and secondary distribution routes and truck loading slots
Monitor and track shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Liaise with transport service providers, internal departments, and customers
Analyse and improve Retail On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) KPI performance
Investigate and resolve delays, damages, pallet discrepancies (CHEP/GLS)
Verify transporter invoices, rates, POs, PODs and prepare payment bundles
Support implementation of TMS and KENAI systems
Oversee on-site truck marshalling and loading priority
Enforce health & safety compliance standards
Knowledge and Skills:
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, or Supply Chain OR Matric with at least 4 years’ relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Microsoft 365
Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Experience with transportation software and KPI analysis
