    Triton Express: C D Manager

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assisting management with operational staff by:

    • Assisting with the recruitment, selection and orientation of new staff within operations
    • Managing work performance of operational staff
    • Conducting weekly / bi weekly meetings with operational staff
    • Recommending training needs within operations department
    • Coaching, counselling and disciplining as required within operations
    • Ensuring that a safe and secure working environment is maintained at all times
    • Ensuring legislative compliance in terms of BCEA, IR, EE, SD and Occupational Health And Safety
    • Preparing of authorized overtime, leave and absenteeism schedules
    • Controlling of all staff documentation requirements
    • Conducting of performance appraisals on all direct reports
    • In-house, JNB Ops Admin, EG Drivecam, incidents/accidents and Back to Basics

    Maintaining operations service and quality standards by:

    • Monitoring service compliance of inbound and outbound freight departures and late collections
    • Monitoring loading of outbound freight onto linehauls
    • Monitoring the offloading of cargo from local collections
    • Analysing and report on failure compliance and missed collections (daily)
    • Analysing and reporting on linehauls and airfreight costs and compliance of cost forecast report
    • Monitoring vehicle tracking and radio communication systems
    • Implementing of operational policies and procedures, making relevant recommendations
    • Assisting in the maintenance of operations assets
    • Ensuring that vehicle inspections are conducted
    • Ensuring branch housekeeping is maintained at all times, by conducting regular inspections

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric (Grd 12)
    • Certificate in Road Transportation (preferred)
    • Clear understanding of the transport ordinances and loading requirements
    • In depth understanding of freight operational processes
    • Relevant transport / freight operational experience
    • Relevant Supervisory experience
    • Advanced understanding of Freightware or similar management system
    • Basic understanding of: BCEA, IR, EE, SD, Occupational Health & Safety
    • Good geographical knowledge and understanding
    • Computer operation – e-mail, excel, MS word
    • Ability to communicate on all levels – both internally and externally
    • Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
    • Ability to compile own written communication
    • Excellent managerial and interactive skills
    • Numerical computation and analysis
    • A valid unendorsed driver’s license code 08 (preferred code 10)
    • Good time management and administrative skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and to meet set targets and deadlines
    • Ability to work unsupervised the majority of the time
    • A high degree of integrity required
    • Presentable and of a professional manner at all times
    • Own transport to and from work
