Tutor | Meyersdal | R150 - R200ph at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• A lovely family is looking for a Tutor for their 14 year old Daughter
• Area: Meyersday in JHB south (Tutor Centre)
• Child’s Age: 14-year-old girl. (Grade 7 going to grade 8) - ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia
• Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: She has ADHD, which means her concentration dips and mood can change when her medication wears off. She needs extra time to process information and can find changes in routine or exam situations stressful. In terms of learning style, she responds best in the mornings or early afternoons and benefits from interactive approaches such as writing on a board or window, incorporating movement breaks, and using fidget tools to help her stay focused.

Support Style:

• Therapy input: Weekly psychotherapy (adoption issues, mood, self-esteem), maths tutor, and school extra lessons in English/Afrikaans/Maths
• Strengths & Interests: Highly sporty (cross country, athletics, hockey, tennis), creative and artistic (pottery, painting, crafts, Pinterest projects)
• Tricky areas: Maths, languages, reading for long periods, sitting still for extended study sessions
• What helps in hard moments: Walks with dogs, time/space in her room, talking things out at bedtime, movement (gym ball/fidgeting while studying)
• Regulation strategies: Regular breaks, interactive/creative approaches to learning, positive feedback to boost self-esteem, structured timetable with clear plan & rewards, small snacks for focus
• Working hours: 3 days per week (Generally Mon, Wed and Fri – but flexible) for 2 hours per day (from 13h00 onwards – also flexible)
• School holiday hours: Not needed / adhoc assistance with prior notice before exams
• Duties: General Curriculum Support in all prescribed Subjects - homework, assignments, extra support, study assistance
• Special Requirements: Female, English, Remedial experience, Tutor or teaching experience
• School/Curriculum: Impaq home schooling curriculum/platform
• Start Date and contract term: Jan 2026 – permanent
• Salary: R180 – R200 per hour

 All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
