UI Designer at Capitec Bank

Purpose Statement

To contribute towards an optimal client experience for Capitec products and digital platforms by: 

• Applying problem-solving abilities and a good understanding of UI and UX principles to successfully translate UX needs into impeccable user-centred interfaces.
• Creating library components and designing engaging and usable interfaces. 
• Being a core contributor to projects and taking ownership of user flows.

Education (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Design

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

• Bachelor's Degree in Design

Knowledge and Experience

Experience

Minimum:

• 2 – 4 years' experience in creating and/or maintaining a design system.
• Experience working on several projects.
• Experience with industry tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InVision, Sketch, Figma.
• Demonstratable experience with web and mobile app design.
• Strong typography, layout and visual design skills.
• Demonstratable experience in designing interactive UI elements and creating animations.
• Highly skilled in responsive design and grid principles – ensuring layouts work across different screen sizes.

Ideal:

• 4+ years’ experience in creating and maintaining a design system
• Banking experience would be beneficial.

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Excellent knowledge of User Interface design, best practises and trends.
• Thorough knowledge of the ideation and creation of UI design deliverables: Sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, prototypes. 
• A good understanding of user experience principles.

Ideal:

Knowledge of:

• Psychology, anthropology and/or human behaviour.
• Analytics and data.
