Vehicle Valuator- Montague Gardens, Cape Town at Ellahi Consulting

Core Purpose of the Role 

• The core purpose of this position is to accurately inspect vehicles and goods as required within the department.
• The role involves examining and assessing the mechanical and cosmetic condition of passenger vehicles to determine the costs required for repairs. This information enables clients to recover these costs and supports accurate vehicle valuations.
• The successful candidate must have a high level of attention to detail and strong customer-service skills. The ability to build good relationships with customers and suppliers while acting professionally is essential.

Requirements / Essential Criteria

Academic Qualifications

• Matric Certificate
• Valid driver’s licence
• No criminal record

Work Experience

• Previous mechanical experience will be advantageous.

Essential Skills & Competencies

• Read, write and speak English.
• Understand traffic rules and regulations.
• Strong driving skills.
• Ability to operate and understand relevant measuring equipment.
• Ability to identify vehicle defects and correctly record faults requiring repair.
• Ability to correctly interpret technical and cosmetic faults outside the manufacturer’s stipulated specifications.
• Knowledge of the most efficient routes in and around the Durban area.
• Good communication skills.

• Conduct the necessary vehicle valuations required by Corporate Clients and Transport Operators.
• Submit all administration relating to the position timeously.
