    VME ISB Engineer

    Job Description
    Responsibilities:

    • Primarily responsible for Planning and implementation of production processes and facilities for all new model Launch & Facility activities for Bodyshop, Frame assembly at the Silverton Assembly Plant. Responsible for working with cross-functional teams (PD, STA, Suppliers, VME advanced Engineering and Facilities Engineering) to achieve LQOS deliverables for new model launch. Provide guidance to plant launch engineering team on new model engineering requirements. Responsible for coordinating and supporting Body VME related activities Key, but not restricted to, responsibilities of the position are as follows: -
    • Execution of projects to within expected quality outputs and in compliance with South Africa legal requirements, coordinate Projects, resources, equipment and information in line with project scope and definition.
    • Coordination works of contractors, conduct safety interventions & control execution of the work, prepare validation plans for all project steps, ensure prior job commencement, Manage The Change is issued and approved by plant, as well as the validation plans
    • To deliver project work as per customers requirements, timing and applicable standard, Engineer to:
    • Prepare the Scope of Works for the BCE facility projects, raise in the system Requisition Requests, conduct suppliers technical evaluation, work with buyer to ensure Purchase Order raised on-time
    • Prepare project planning, status review and reporting
    • Support creation of manufacturing automation processes using control system design, application, and validation experience.
    • Conduct Process and Tooling design reviews.
    • Support development of process sheets, PFMEAs and control plans. 
    • Simulate and validate system dynamics 
    • Liaise with contractors and internal customers to clarify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.
    • Monitor and track project’s progress and handle any issues that arise but following Buy off book processes.
    • Support launch process and ensure tooling and process meets quality, safety and cycle time expectations.
    • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants
    • Use project management tools to monitor working hours, budget, plans and money spend
    • Ensure all appropriate legal paperwork is received on time as part of buyoff processes
    • Ensure compliance to OSH and Driven machinery acts
    • Report and escalate to management as needed
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
    • Participating in regular core team meetings in line with overall project status and deadlines
    • Coordination of the design approvals, pre-acceptance, final inspection and buy off.

    Responsibilities

    • Improve part and assemble quality from data analysis
    • Drive improvement of overall assembly quality with the aim to achieve nominal assembly specification.
    • Ensure fixture integrity and measurement are achieved efficiently and timeously
    • Drive incoming quality and ensure part integrity are monitored to identify abnormalities
    •  Improve process capability and eliminate variation from the manufacturing process to ensure a stable a capable part and process

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or PROVEN relevant experience 
    • 4-5 years Of PROVEN motor industry or related work experience in Process engineering and Automated facility implementation 
    • PROVEN experience in Design & Commissioning (e.g., performance tuning, loop checkout, etc.)
    • Experience in Troubleshooting (e.g. root cause failure analysis and correction)
    • Strong knowledge of Body and Stamping construction processes, quality monitoring equipment technology, performance, and design principles
    • PROVEN Experience in Preparation of SOW, conducting safety analysis, FMEA requirements, lead design reviews / buyoff at supplier site and support implementation of facilities.
    • PROVEN knowledge and application of OSH and Ford manufacturing safety processes
    • Project Management experience and MS Project are must.
    • Siemens Team center knowledge Beneficial 
    • AutoCAD & 3D CAD package experience
