VSAT Engineer at BCX

Calling on all VSAT Engineers to apply.

 Job Context:

• Strong knowledge of Satellite Communication Equipment Vendors, VSAT Service Providers and Teleport Operators.
• Strong understanding of TDMA, Mx-DMA and SCPC bandwidth sharing capabilities
• Insight into DVB-S2 and DVB-S2x platform capabilities
• Link budget planning using ACM
• Link budget planning using frequency reuse techniques.
• Responsible for liaising with the Satellite Operator & Field Engineers to bring the new Sites into the Network and interacting with Vendors, Satellite Operators for resolution of Service related problems.
• Experience in Space segment optimization
• Modems (preferable experience in iDirect, Hughes and Gilat), Encoders, Modulators, Demodulators, Switches, IRDs, HPAs and Antenna System (0.75,0.95,1.2,1.8,2.4m Antennas)
• Strong understanding of Spectral and Modcod capabilities and efficiencies.

EDUCATION:

• Grade 12
• NQF 5/6/7 Qualification in IT/Electrical Eng
• CCNA would be preferable
