This specific role of the Warehouse Manager for Raw and Packaging Materials is to manage and oversee store operations and ensure uninterrupted flow of production materials, MRO materials and services to ‘Make’ in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

The Functional Capabilities Required Are

• Functional expertise in warehouse management processes, systems.
• 3rd party and supplier contract/performance management.
• Continuous improvement skill set (Lean, Six Sigma or similar).

Purpose of Role

• Specifically, the role holder is responsible for defining, providing, controlling and commercially managing all warehousing and inventory management requirements within the scope of the production plant.
• Developing competency and capability of the stock controllers, store assistants/ forklift drivers and process minders to promote productivity and good governance by ensuring risks are identified, assessed and mitigated to prevent losses to the business (be it inventory control and / or adherence to Diageo Standards, policies and procedures)

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

• Primary accountability for all activities within the applicable warehouse site(s) in line with approved process standards.
• Adherence and compliance to all Diageo standard Inventory management processes and controls.
• Ensure that inventory and non-inventory items within storage are protected from damage and loss in line with local and CARM directives.
• Maintaining optimum stock and ensuring continuous, uninterrupted service to production.
• Managing, controlling and monitoring inventory to ensure right quantity and qualities are always issued (100% OTIFNE)
• Ensuring materials and services are in line with requirements, specifications and standards
• Plays a meaningful role with planning – supports in ensuring lead-times, order lot sizes, forecast consumption information is relevant, real, and timely provided.
• Zero stock losses by ensuring inventory management and stock control processes are adhered too.
• Organizing and documenting redundant and or obsolete materials for proper planning of disposal and space optimization.
• Manage master data changes and additions to stock process ensuring that inventory investment is maintained through correct redundancy management.
• Integration with production and operational plans to optimize productivity: optimize material call offs and replenishment.
• Analysing and solving situational and operational problems to mitigate against unnecessary interruptions that may lead to down time.
• Ensure that the warehouse site is clean, safe and secure.
• Manage the relationship with the internal teams & external customers who receive services from the warehouse.
• Holds direct reports accountable for their work, keeps the teams focused on key priorities/projects and sets measures and milestones to ensure things happen as planned.
• Effective communication with team, internal and external stakeholders
• To be accountable for all invoice payments to warehousing vendors, and resolution of claims payment processing
• Ensure that CARM, EH&S and Security standards are observed and respected
• Responsible for Tier 2 and 3 Move Performance Management meetings as part of Excellence in Supply Chain

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Relevant degree/diploma, preferably in the field of Supply Chain Management
• At least 5 years Warehousing Operations experience.

• Performance Management – The role holder will understand the importance of KPIs in driving performance; know how to track their targets and, of course, correct as appropriate.
• Continuous Improvement – the role holder will be expected to be flexible and embrace change, continually looking for ways to improve everything they do. They will use various continuous improvement tools and techniques to solve problems. To provide the link between warehouse 3PL suppliers and key stake holders in order to drive new ideas into Diageo’s supply chain organisation.
