Wildlife Driver: Five (5) Months Fixed-Term Contract at South African National Parks (SANParks)

Requirements

• Grade 12.
• 1 years experience in the wildlife capture industry will be an added advantage.
• Job-related knowledge of wildlife industry standard operations procedures.
• A valid Code EC driver’s license with a valid PDP.
• Two years of experience in driving code 14 fixed truck or articulated combination truck with trailer (Horse & trailer).
• Willing to work flexible hours e.g. weekends & after hours if and when required.
• Must be in good physical health.
• Understanding of basic principles of Health & Safety.
• Own transport and accommodation (no staff housing is available).
• No criminal record – SAPS Verification will be done.

Responsibilities

• Driving of LDV, trucks, tractors and vehicle trailers as required.
• Transport of animals in compliance with legislation.
• Assist in capture, holding and relocation operation.
• Maintenance of capture vehicles and equipment.
• Care of captured wildlife.
