Requirements

• B Degree/B Tech or equivalent NQF 7 qualification in Accounting and/or Finance
• In-depth knowledge of Financial regulations, in particular Local Government principles and systems
• 2-5 years’ relevant experience in Accounting and Financial administration
• Specialised knowledge of municipal accounting, budgeting procedures and practises.
• Proficiency in Ms Office and SAP financial system

Key Performance Areas

• Provide professional advice to branches within the department on financial best practice in terms of executing budget/expenditure.
• Facilitates the implementation of the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the provision of an Accounting Service.
• Analysing various cost centre expenditure reports for posting errors and arranging corrective action.
• Implement processes facilitating the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the provision of Financial Administration.
• Co-ordinate and control the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the provision of Financial Risk Management oversight through research and investigation.
• Co-ordinate and control the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the provision of Financial Liaison.
• Co-ordinate the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the provision of Financial Training.
• Co-ordinate the general administrative duties for the branch.
