    Procurement Manager

    Job Purpose

    • The purpose of the Procurement Manager is to design, implement and manage a procuring strategy which enables the business to effectively source resources that allows the business to operate efficiently.

    Job Objectives and Functions

    Procuring strategy

    • Accountable for developing a procuring strategy which will guide internal stakeholders on the policies, principles and or procedures to follow when requesting assets.
    • Responsible for reviewing the company’s spend cube and to identify, propose and implement procuring opportunities based on the information.
    • Responsible for the company’s enterprise and supplier development strategies and initiatives.

    Third party engagement

    • Accountable for engaging, negotiating and managing the relationship between suppliers used to procure requested items.
    • Responsible for overseeing compliance by ensuring the selected suppliers comply with Barron’s procurement/sourcing policy.
    • Responsible for supplier capacity planning as well as geographic capacity planning.
    • Accountable for ensuring that the goods sourced are within budget and advise heads of department, if requested item is out of budget.
    • Accountable to oversee RFP processes to optimize sourcing value.
    • Accountable for responsible sourcing.

    Supplier SLA management

    • Responsible for updating supplier master agreement(s) ensuring all relevant supplier information is collected and documented.
    • Responsible for legal review of agreements.
    • Responsible for updating and negotiating all payment terms with suppliers, ensure the terms are signed by all relevant stakeholders, sent to the suppliers and ensure suppliers confirm receipt of the signed documents.
    • Responsible for sending code of conducts to all current existing suppliers and ensuring they are aware of the term contained in the document.
    • Manage and monitor supplier agreements by ensuring that all signed contracts are submitted as well as ensuring that all supporting documents and certification(s) are attached.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications: 

    • Honours Degree in Supply Chain (NQF 8)

    Knowledge: 

    • BEE legislation around procurement spend and Enterprise and Supplier Development; Costing models; Procuring Principles; Understanding contracts/ Legal documents; Negotiation.

    Experience: 

    • 4-6 years experience in a same or similar role (Procurement) in Retail & Wholesale Industry.

    Skills: 

    • Microsoft D356 (Finance), Numerical Comprehension, Tactical sourcing.

    Product Planner

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The purpose of the Planner is to forecast product needs based on sales histories and develop a product line plan that assures the profitability of a product category. 

    JOB OBJECTIVES

    Forecasting and budget management

    • Accountable for planned revenue, forecast as well as achieving set budget by reviewing product lines and product line productivity, ensuring that there are enough items per product line to meet targets, suggesting items for last buy, identifying redundant stock as well as products for promotion.
    • Responsible for Managing New Product budget, by making sure that new product presented by Buyer does not exceed budget.
    • Monitor and show responsibility on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) (i.e., sales plan, gross profit, cost reductions, stock turns, and closing stock).  Assess and highlight areas of positive performance and identify areas where improvement is required, and implement appropriate action for their area of control

    Management of product line per category

    • Responsible for managing the current stock on record and product life cycle by conducting research, analyzing consumer trends, looking for opportunities within Barron competitors as well as working with the Buyer to develop features in existing products to suit specific target markets.

    Stock Management according to sales

    • Plan stock level requirements according to forecast and budgeted stock turns
    • Manage clearance at appropriate times
    • Assess performance weekly of SKU's and manage stock levels up and down in order to meet required sales
    • Analyse and evaluate Key Performance Indicators (i.e., sales plans, cost reductions, forward covers, Chain Sales to Stock Ratio (CSS) and stockturn). Consider trends, supplier efficiency and lead times when under their area of control reviewing recommendations
