    Stock Controller - Stock

    Job Description

    Purpose: 

    • The purpose of this job is to manage the day-to-day maintenance of stock levels within the inventory parameters on the stock system and monitor the merchandising and housekeeping standards of stock on shelves in such a way that stock discrepancies are reduced in order to minimize losses. 
    • This includes managing the flow of stock from the receiving department in the respective departments in the store, ensuring that products are unpacked correctly and making sure that accurate stock records are maintained at all times. 
    • In addition, this includes ensuring that stocks correspond with stock on hand that’s recorded on the stock system used and investigating issues that arise in such a manner it ensures the continuous availability of stock.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Control daily weekly and monthly stocktakes/cycle counts in various departments according to a schedule
    • Investigate stock discrepancies in various departments as well as liaise with the stock controllers across the relevant branches to check stock on hands against computer stock
    • Maintain stock levels including monitoring of transfer to be actioned timeously
    • Liaise with management on a daily basis where there are stock discrepancies request management to adjust stock accordingly
    • Investigate outstanding invoices and orders before forwarding adjustments to management alleviating errors and checking of credit slips as per managements request or using initiative with regards to credit slips when stock discrepancies are identified
    • Maintain harmonious working relationships with internal stakeholders who supply and transfer stock by consistently delivering internal customer service satisfaction in terms of the company’s customer service standards
    • Comply with Health & Safety standards
    • Participate in perpetual stock takes
    • Ensure housekeeping of work area
    • Delegate work related stock tasks to Junior personnel
    • Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by superior

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or 3x Completed Intercept courses equating to a total of 120 credits
    • Candidates with no Matric but have 5 - 7 years Stock Management
    • 5 Years minimum experience in a similar role
    • Brights Induction (Service Excellence)

    • Ability to handle pressure
    • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal &written) at all levels
    • Policy and procedure driven

    Sales Assistant - Electrical & Lighting Department

    Job Description

    Purpose: 

    • To assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for whatever need the customer has, in such a manner that the assistance of the Sales Assistant is appreciated by the customer when he/she purchases any product.
    • This will include the ability to provide good customer service in such a manner that customer satisfaction is achieved, resulting in generating sales and promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth in margins and profits.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner
    • Generate more sales, ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
    • Control stock levels and doing regular stock counts
    • Advise customers with regards to products, which product would be best in order to solve the customers’ problem
    • Place stock orders with buyers if necessary
    • Attend to relevant admin tasks including up keep of customer book, special orders file and forwarding of invoices as well as other relevant tasks
    • Ensure merchandising is done properly and that the products are priced correctly
    • Participate in perpetual stock takes
    • Ensure good housekeeping of work area
    • Perform any work related tasks as delegated by superior

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or x3 Completed Intercept courses equating to total of 120 credits
    • 2 Years minimum experience in a Hardware environment
    • Basic product exposure (must have spent at least 2 years with Electrical and Lighting products)
    • Brights Induction (Service excellence)
    • In-house entry level merchandising standards
    • In house basic sales technique
    • 2 x Department Product Knowledge Certificate
    • Natural Sales flair
    • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)

    General Assistant X3 - Drive Thru Yard Department

     Job Description

    Purpose: 

    • The purpose of this job is to deliver exceptional customer service in such a manner that external and internal customers are satisfied including delivery and transfer drivers. 
    • This is accomplished by offering friendly customer service, ensuring clean and tidy environment and accurate loading of all customers’ products purchased ensuring that the Yard runs efficiently so that no losses of neither stock nor dissatisfied customers occur in order to have customers return to the store increasing sales and profit margins.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Loading customers vehicles, delivery trucks and transfer trucks promptly and accurately
    • Ensuring that stock is properly stacked and counted
    • Assist with pulling of stock for transfers
    • Reporting stock shortages
    • Reporting stock breakages
    • Up keeping of tidiness and cleaning of area by sweeping and upholding good housekeeping
    • Assisting customers with excellent customer service and product knowledge
    • Bagging of stone/ sand
    • Participating in perpetual stocktakes
    • Ensuring housekeeping of work area
    • Performing any work related tasks as delegated by your superior

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or Equivalent
    • 1 Year minimum experience in a similar role (preferred)
    • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
    • Ability to numerically count stock
    • Able to work independently and as a team player
    • Be disciplined and motivated
    • Ability to handle pressure
    • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal)
    • Physical fitness and stamina

    Controller - Frontline Department

    Job Description

    Purpose:

    • The purpose of this job is to ensure that service standards are met and that customer issues are resolved; this can be achieved through accurate checking of invoices.
    • This will result in securing that an actual item purchased corresponds with the customers receipt, in order to avoid losses.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure that the actual item/s purchased corresponds with the customers receipt ensuring that the correct goods leave the premises
    • Ensure that the item purchased is correctly scanned
    • Keep record of inter branch sales
    • Greet customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store
    • Monitor checkout stations (and self-service in stores with this feature) for cashier performance and needs by superior
    • Avoid duplications of to follow items
    • Participate in perpetual stocktakes
    • Ensure housekeeping of work area according to company standards
    • Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by Superior

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or x3 Completed Intercept courses equating to total of 120 credits
    • Grade C in security (advantage)
    • 2 years previous experience in a similar role
    • Brights Induction (Service excellence)
    • Internal Procedural knowledge
    • Ability to take on responsibility, be diligent & handle pressure
    • Ability to work independently as well as in team
