    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Purpose    

    • Applies quantity surveying principles, procedures and application.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Responsible for Quality Surveying Service on all construction projects.
    • Communicating and providing input, cost control and technical support.
    • Comprehending and applying guidelines with respect to the formulation of contract
    • documentation for construction projects.
    • Monitoring and controlling cost implications and project cash flows.
    • Updating and maintaining existing work flow systems.
    • Supervising subordinate staff by allocating work and monitoring progress and performance.

    • Registered as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor with the South African Council for the Quantity
    • Surveying Profession (SACQSP) within 6 months of employment.
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license
    • 3 years relevant experience

    Preferred Requirements    

    • Bachelor of Science Honours (NQF Level 8) in Quantity Surveying.
    • 4 years relevant experience.

    Bio Monitor

    Job Purpose    

    • To take samples of a range of water samples types such as rivers and beaches in order to comply with legislative requirements and to act as Scientific Service's eyes and ears in the environment.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Prepares for sampling and collects the required samples.
    • Transports samples to the laboratory according to sampling handling requirements of Scientific Service’s Quality System.
    • Maintains and controls the sampling vehicle and undertakes other driving duties.
    • Assist with good housekeeping in the laboratory.
    • Undergoes safety induction in various industries for adherence to health and safety regulations.
    • Participates in non-routine sampling for projects required by Scientific Services or its customers.
    • Assists the principal scientist with the administration of the sampling division.
    • Participates in non-routine sampling for projects required by scientific services or its customers.
    • Undertakes other driving duties to assist in the effective operation of Scientific Services.

    Laboratory Attendant

    Job Purpose    

    • To support the analytical staff by ensuring that non-technical functions of the laboratory operate smoothly.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Prepares bottles for sampling to ensure that the correct equipment is always available.
    • Assists with the collection of samples for the laboratory.
    • Cleans and prepares the laboratory apparatus and work area.
    • Assists with the preparation of routine work of a technical nature and ad hoc samples for analysis.
    • Performs related tasks and assignment in the laboratory.
    • Guides and assists new Laboratory Assistant appointees.
    • Undertakes related assignments.
