    Intern (Career Centre)

    Job Purpose: 

    • The Career Centre Intern is required to assist the manager on placement of graduates and overall planning and implementation of events as required by the Career Services Centre.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Run E-mailer campaign .
    • Provide graduates with the job requirements and overview of the prospective employers.
    • Obtain job descriptions and company specifications for entry level positions.
    • Match graduate CV’s from database to job descriptions and company specifications.
    • Present candidates where possible during sit-down session with prospective employer.
    • Ask and confirm that CV’s meet the expectations of the prospective employer.
    • Arrange interviews with shortlisted graduates.
    • Follow up with graduate and ensure he/she is fully prepared for first day at the office.
    • Follow up with graduate at the end of his/her first day and first week at the office.
    • Follow up with employer at end of graduate’s first day.
    • Follow up with employer after two to four weeks after employment.
    • Update database with complete details; including Graduate’s new position, title and salary details.
    • Company’s feedback on overall impression of candidates presented
    • Generate statistical data and reports as required for reporting.
    • To assist the department in the placements of RC graduates.
    • Prepare graduates who will be put forward for possible vacancies by the department.
    • Process graduate curriculum Vitae’s submitted to the department to the requirements set by the department.
    • Write reports on workshops, placements, graduate success etc. for publication by Communications Department or as per the instruction of your manager.
    • Assist manager with the planning and implementation of events; i.e. exhibitions, job shadowing, learner ships, internships, voluntary work experience etc., which promotes the services offered by the department.
    • Schedule graduates for Graduate Work Readiness coaching sessions.
    • Arrange logistics for workshops which includes booking of a meeting room, arranging equipment required and catering.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Relevant 3-year Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources or Related Qualification

    Student Wellness Coordinator

    Job Purpose:

    • Rosebank College is looking for a passionate individual to join its Student Wellness team. This individual will work with and assist to manage the psychosocial wellbeing of the student body through providing counselling services, social education and awareness programmes and life skills development.

    Key Performance Area:

    Counselling

    • Implementation of on-site primary counselling services, trauma containment & crisis management
    • Marketing & Promotion of the service to students
    • Maintaining of case files and counselling statistics within SACSSP/HPCSA standards

    Community Engagement (CE)

    • Create a campus specific planner for CE projects and manage the implementation thereof for each site
    • Ensure the active functioning of the CE committee of the Student Council
    • Monitor, evaluate and analyse projects to inform future planning & measure impact of projects

    Management of the Student Council

    • Plan and implement the SC election process
    • Provide enough training, team building and development opportunities for the SC
    • Ensure the active participation and engagement of SC members in campus life through the various committees, portfolios, meetings and other related activities as per the SC process

    Social Awareness & Education

    • Design and Plan effective Social Awareness & Education Campaigns aimed at addressing campus specific needs
    • Manage the effective implementation of such programmes
    • Evaluation and analysis of Programmes to inform future planning

    Reporting

    • Fortnightly Reporting on all KPAs
    • Consolidated Semester Reporting
    • Completion of all online tracking systems
    • Update graduate database

    Person Description

    Education:

    • Minimum - A Degree in Social Work or Psychology
    • Registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP or a registered Counsellor or Psychologist with the HPCSA

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years counselling experience.
    • Experience working with youth will be advantageous

    Physical Requirements

    • Drivers Licence and own car is essential.

    Lecturer Social Science- (Part-Time)

    Job Purpose:

    • To teach / lecture an agreed number of hours based on module specialisation requirements.
    • To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Central Academic Team.
    • Assisting the Programme Coordinator in tracking and analysing of academic results to evaluate the performance of the module and to identify “at risk modules.”

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.
    • Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre
    • Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
    • Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.
    • Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation.
    • Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.
    • Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result.
    • Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.

    Academic Professional Development:

    • Complete a set number of academic professional development interventions per academic cycle (one year) that contribute to the improvement of the Brand’s Teaching-Learning practice and personal professional academic status.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Social Science
    • Honours qualification (NQF Level 8) is an added advantage. 
    • 1-2 Years of lecturing experience 
    • 2-3 years industry experience

    Programme Academic Lead-Commerce

    Job purpose:

    • To ensure the implementation of academic policy, quality Teaching-Learning and to oversee the role played by Programme Coordinators and Lecturers in this regard.
    • To conduct Lecturer Peer Reviews as identified by Programme Coordinators through observation and moderation.
    • To conduct workshops and consultations with students and to develop and implement orientation and development plans with Lecturers, by monitoring and reviewing these a year after implementation.

    Lecturer- Teaching Experience And Social Science

    Job Purpose:

    • The purpose of the Teaching Experience and Social Science Lecturer position is to oversee the lecturing, planning, implementation, and management of student teaching practicums. 
    • This role has Teaching Experience coordination duties and includes providing training and education to students, coordinating with partner schools, facilitating student consultations, and contributing to the development of a robust knowledge base in the field of education through academic research and collaboration with the School of Education Faculty. 
    • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in educational leadership, teaching, and coordination, with a strong academic background in education and related fields.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Lecture and facilitate workshops on teaching methodologies, subject-specific tutorials, and classroom management, including Teaching Experience, Education Management, Education Studies, Social Science and Natural Science modules.  
    • Coordinate and manage the teaching experience (practicum) program for students, including placement in partner schools and supervision of student teachers. 
    • Collaborate with the Programme Coordinators and the Programme Manager to enhance teaching and learning standards on campus. 
    • Assist in the preparation, delivery, and marking of modules related to teaching practice and pedagogy
    • Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving teaching methodologies and student outcomes. 
    • Contribute to the development of innovative teaching materials and resources. 
    • Engage in ongoing academic research, including the development of studies on teaching practices and land tenure systems, as well as other relevant educational topics. 
    • Facilitate police clearance processes and manage service-learning activities. 
    • Maintain attendance trackers and oversee administrative tasks related to teaching practicums. 
    • Provide one-on-one consultations to students requiring additional academic or professional guidance. 
    • Offer support workshops to address challenges faced by students during their practicums. 

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A minimum of a B.Ed. Honours degree, or 
    • A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (at NQF Level 8), or 
    • A Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences Honours degree, with an education focus. 
    • A focus on teaching at the Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase, or Further Education and Training (FET) band. 
    • Social Sciences or component subjects such as History and Geography to at least NQF Level 6 (usually the second year of study) is preferred. 

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 10 years of work experience, with extensive experience in education. 
    • Proven track record as a Teaching Experience Coordinator, School Principal, Subject Advisor, and Teacher. 
    • Experience in managing and coordinating teaching practicums and working with diverse educational stakeholders.

    Planning & Scheduling Co-Ordinator

     Job Purpose:

    • Under the management of the Head of Academic Operation, this position is responsible for all campus timetabling logistics and assessment venue planning. This includes the drafting and management of the teaching timetable in an efficient manner and ensuring that the campus accommodation schedule covers all programmes offered on campus.

     Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate lecturer budget planning by communicating student group plans to the academic team.
    • Manage venue allocation for academic activities, assessments, and ad hoc campus events.
    • Liaise with Facilities to address venue issues and ensure classroom readiness.
    • Plan and manage assessment and teaching timetables, including lecturer allocation and timetable updates.

    • Support programme operations, including special academic events and supplementary sessions.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Qualifications

    • National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6)
    • Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 7) is advantageous

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience (Ideally with timetabling experience)
