- The Mass and Foundation Cluster (MFC) Actuarial Finance team has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to play a key role in the valuation space.
- The team is responsible for financial reporting (IFRS, MCEV and SAM), maintaining (coding and peer review) of Prophet and DCS models, and supporting robust forecasting, business planning and monthly reporting for the segment.
- Examines and summarizes statistical data by applying mathematical and statistical knowledge to unpaid claim liability, trend analysis, rate formula, forecasting, and premium analysis.
- Participates in the preparation of annual statements, calculation of tax related issues, and drafting of business coverage forms.
- OML roles mapped to this profile are: Senior Actuarial Specialist, Senior Actuarial Specialist (OMAO) and Senior Specialist: Actuarial Underwriting.
The role will grant you exposure to the valuations environment where you can develop sound technical knowledge. The successful candidate will be presented with the following opportunities and responsibilities:
- Overseeing the end-to-end reporting processes for the MFC Risk product range. The incumbent will be required to continually review and improve existing methods, models and processes. The role will participate in various projects, relating to enhancing valuation methods and basis. KEY RESULT AREAS
Technical Delivery:
- Collaborate with technical teams such as platform, security and operational teams to ensure alignment of data governance standards.
- Administrate and manage the Data Governance Tools for metadata management, data quality management and data classification.
- Manage partner relationships for data governance tools to ensure the bank is abreast of all new features or amendments within the tools.
- Setup, manage and maintain all workflows required for the tools to operate efficiently, i.e. connectors, API’s etc.
- Manage GitHub repositories related to Data Governance and ensure appropriate promotion strategies are in place.
- Ensure all Pre-production and Production environments are aligned with data governance enrichment within the tools.
- Ensure the tooling remains up to date and relevant to any new standards introduced or enhancements to existing standards.
- Maintain documentation to support the use of the tools and their features as well as best practices to ensure governance of data within the tools.

- Support the data stewards to automate any manual metadata enrichment.
Data Quality Management
- Conduct data quality assessments and implement data quality improvements.
