    Project CEO (BESS)

    What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

    • As the Project CEO, you will take charge of the project’s successful execution from financial close through to handover to asset management. You will lead and manage the SPV team, overseeing the construction and implementation phases while ensuring adherence to the project charter and governance plan.
    • Your role will involve steering project governance, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring project milestones are met on schedule.
    • You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, managing project risks, and handling contract administration.
    • Additionally, you will oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance, and prepare for the transition of the project to the operational phase.

The organisation fosters a collaborative culture and has a proven track record of securing and managing large-scale renewable energy projects, contributing significantly to the region’s energy transition.

    What you’ll need

    • To succeed in this role, you will need a Master’s Degree in Engineering, PMP accreditation, IoDSA, IBASA or similar registration, and you should have over 15 years of experience in construction and project management of utility scale projects within the renewable energy sector. Proven leadership skills, a track record of managing complex and large scale projects, and strong stakeholder management capabilities are essential. You should be familiar with project governance frameworks, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies. A background in energy transition projects, coupled with a relevant degree and previous executive experience, will position you as a strong candidate for this role.

    Solar PV Draughtsman

    • You’re a self-motivated draughtsman with a passion for renewable energy. Precision and attention to detail are second nature to you, especially when you’re working with AutoCAD to bring complex designs to life. You thrive in collaborative environments, liaising with engineers to ensure every dimension, every line, and every detail aligns perfectly with project requirements. Multi-tasking across various disciplines and projects doesn’t faze you—instead, it’s where you shine.

    What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

    • In this role, you’ll be at the heart of renewable energy projects, creating both 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD software. You’ll work closely with engineers, gathering their requirements and translating them into precise designs. Your day-to-day will involve calculating dimensions, determining material requirements, and making adjustments based on project engineer feedback. This is a dynamic role where you’ll contribute to the detailed design of everything from inverter stations to solar module layouts, helping to bring innovative energy solutions to life.

    • Our client is a vertically integrated engineering, procurement, and construction company with a strong presence across Africa, including offices in South Africa and Kenya. As a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP), they manage every aspect of their projects, from development and construction to operation and maintenance. They are leaders in designing and constructing bespoke solar energy systems, offering full-service solutions for commercial power needs.     What you’ll need

    • To excel in this role, you’ll need at least 2 years of experience as a draughtsperson or designer, with a strong background in AutoCAD design software. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working across various disciplines, will be key. Educationally, you should hold a Grade 12 certificate or Technical N3 Matric Certificate, complemented by a N4/N5 Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice (MDDOP) National Certificate or an equivalent qualification. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
