    Chief Marketing Officer [Cape Town OR Johannesburg]

    Role Purpose    

    • Drive effective and innovative brand, strategic marketing, public relations and communication strategies that will create brand awareness, to consideration and to conversion in order to ensure profitable growth and sustainability aligned to the business objectives for Metropolitan Life.

    Requirements    

    • Post-graduate degree in Business Management, Marketing or Behavioural Sciences
    • 10 -15 years strategic marketing experience
    • Experience within the financial services industry will be advantageous
    • Sound experience of B2C and or B2B brand and marketing strategies
    • Knowledge of the Emerging Market landscape
    • 5 years leadership experience on a senior level
    • Competence in digital marketing strategy, business development, corporate communication, marketing analytics and metrics

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Design and lead the implementation of the Metropolitan Life business brand and marketing strategies to drive the business agenda in line with branding and marketing architecture to deliver initiatives that are compelling, relevant and deliver a consistent message in the corporate context.
    • Provide strategic direction and execution of marketing relevant to the Metropolitan Life brand in order to deliver targeted strategies that align to specific market understanding and focuses on business development and maximising sales opportunities.
    • Design, develop and sustain a holistic PR strategy for Metropolitan Life ensuring visibility, brand-building and thought leadership.
    • Partner with Group marketing on relevant sponsorship events and Corporate Social investment.
    • Provide a clear and consistent Marketing partner value proposition that is aligned to and forms an integral part of the strategic intent of the segment.
    • Partner with Product Houses and Distribution Channels valuate and monitor competitiveness of products, services and marketing activities and channel these insights into the optimisation of marketing initiatives.
    • Drive the development of integrated marketing strategies and campaigns that maximises the effectiveness of the sales force and business development activities.
    • Drive the development and measurement of marketing metrics that enable effective decision making around revenue growth, market share, marketing intelligence and profitability.
    • Develop and implement tactical plans to operationalise the marketing strategy for Metropolitan Life to achieve business objectives.
    • Drive the use of the latest technology and mechanisms to effectively deliver marketing messaging to target audiences, including mobile, video, and social media etc.
    • Develop and utilise measurements of impact to eliminate inefficiencies and enable effective decision making around revenue growth, market share, marketing intelligence and profitability.
    • Build strong relationships with the brand and marketing community across the Group. Effective leveraging of Group Marketing capabilities in delivering on the Metropolitan Life marketing strategy.

    Broker Consultant - Pretoria/JHB

    Role Purpose    

    • Attract, engage and retain profitable new business from brokers within the target market in orde to increase the broker base to enhance channel profitability. 

    Requirements    

    • Grade 12/NQF 4 equivalent qualification.
    • FSB recognized qualification listed or credits pertaining to the date of first appointment in the industry, listed on the most recently published Board notice as published for recognized qualification, to fulfil the duties of a compliant supervisor (minimum 120 Credits).
    • FAIS Representative Regulatory Exam Level 5 passed.
    • Class of Business.
    • Valid driver's license and own transport.
    • At least 1 years’ experience as a Broker Consultant.
    • Product knowledge and competitor intelligence.
    • Proficient in English with the ability to speak multiple languages with some African languages (preferred).
    • Experience in the Mass Market and Stop Order industry.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Develop and implement marketing plans that will outperform competitor strategies.
    • Continuously analyze competitor strategies and ensure knowledge is current on competitor activity, new products and services.
    • Promote and market the Metropolitan brand and its solutions to brokers to influence the sale of in-house products.
    • Partner with and identify the needs of brokers and provide the necessary support.
    • Negotiate with intermediaries regarding the level of business and servicing requirements.
    • Promote Metropolitan solutions through marketing presentations and training.
    • Establish and maintain business relationships in order to grow market share with existing brokers.
    • Ensure the business's processes and policies are adhered to in the management of relationships at all times, and to represent the company in a professional, business-like manner.
    • Efficiently apply technology and update investment knowledge in the business.
    • Prepare quotations, receive and check new business applications.
    • Arrange premium payment facilities and open new facilities as required.
    • Initiate and manage marketing drives to secure profitable, quality new business from brokers.
    • Maintain productive levels with acceptable quality of business and manage the risk of such business.
    • Manage administration related to missed payments, broker contract applications, after sales service, etc.
    • Deliver training to brokers to ensure their understanding of Metropolitan products and services where necessary.
    • Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards and resolve issues speedily to enhance client service delivery.
    • Drive client service delivery goal achievement in line with predefined standards in order to ensure that clients receive appropriate advice and after sales service.
    • Manage client query processes and ensure that queries are tracked, accurately resolved and used as a mechanism to improve client service and business processes.
    • Provide regular reports on delivery of services against agreed service standards and in terms of overall client targets.
    • Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
