    Partner account manager - Kwazulu/Natal

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Enable and support Enterprise Business unit Partners in achieving the Vodacom Enterprise Business unit objective of being the preferred Total Communications provider (fixed & mobile) for SOHO & SME customers in South Africa. Deliver high standard of Channel Account Management for both existing and new partners. Enabling and supporting the Enterprise Business unit Partners to achieve Acquisition, Retention & Churn targets

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assist with on boarding of new partners, identify type of partner, and communicate the relevant legal agreement/addendum, X-Codes, coordinate training calendar / curriculum & access to systems 
    • Grow and enhance existing partners, inform and communicate any new training modules applicable 
    • Communicate & Drive Enterprise Business unit Partner Training curriculum in accordance to Enterprise Business unit Partner policies & procedures. No training no selling 
    • Visit EBU partners as per a regular structured calling cycle. Provide consultation and guidance to partners, be visible, build & maintain relationships with Enterprise Business unit Partners Promote and Recommend Products & Services to Enterprise Business unit Partners in order to generate more revenue 
    • Ensure that Enterprise Business unit Partners apply Account Management Methodologies in servicing customer accounts 

    The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Must have technical / professional     
    • Matric with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales.
    • 3 Year Degree (with 3 years’ experience) 
    • A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience - essential. 
    • Experience in solution sales and relationship management or enterprise solution selling within companies - essential. 
    • A good understanding of converged and networking technologies and services.
    • Proven successful account acquisition and development in a Public Sector environment- desirable. 
    • Demonstrated success in networking and relationship management skills

    Senior Specialist: Telecoms Support Service - JHB

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Do you have a vision for how technology can empower businesses and individuals alike? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 
    • We are on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Telecom Support Services (TSS) Senior Specialist who will be a Technical Lead for all TSS Operations and Project implementations. You will be required to provide input to solution architecture, strategy and system design for the USSD systems, Intelligent Network Services (INS), Location Based Services (LBS) and MyVodacom USSD environment.
    • In this role you will be part of a team that will shape the future of Vodacom’s technology landscape by providing input to products and services development team. Work with other divisions and departments on the roadmap for all the Telecoms Support Services including backend systems that are integrated to these services. You will be expected to be proactively involved and participate in the network and system integration, network optimization and enhancement, technology evolution and innovation, and to provide key technical recommendations to management and business teams on technology trends and evolving network architectures in the field of USSD, INS, LBS and MyVodacom USSD environment.
    • In addition, you will be proactively involvement in projects related to architecture changes, upgrades and the implementation of new systems and services. Engage with Assurance, Regional Operations and Network Performance teams to understand and address network concerns. Perform cost-benefit analysis associated with specific technical scenarios and trials under consideration. Evaluate and implement new supporting technologies in the TSS environment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Routine system preventative and corrective maintenance on USSD, INS, MyVodacom, LBS applications, and constantly look at ways of being proactive to issues that occur on system and application level.
    • Provide high level support to customer care regarding customer queries. Liaising with WASPs, ASOC, Suppliers/Vendors, and other divisions within Vodacom on a daily basis.
    • Focus on system, application and database administration and optimisation. This includes all possible tasks required on supported systems. 
    • Monitor and manage Telecoms Support Services availability of 99,98%. Including proactive monitoring and detection of problems, improved means of ensuring resilience/redundancy and improved means of restoring service when interruptions to service are experienced.
    • Implement and maintain BCP, Disaster/Recovery processes and procedures.
    • Evaluate and optimise application tools and dashboards (i.e., Grafana, App Dynamics, etc.) that are currently used. Identify new tools that are required. Evaluate and implement new Data Analytics and present to management and business teams.
    • Arrange and conduct periodic meetings with suppliers to obtain the latest product updates and trends. Manage relationships with other technology departments within Vodacom and Vodafone. 
    • Proactively monitor and manage configuration management, risk management, capacity planning, and event and fault management in the TSS department.
    • Proactively monitor, manage and optimize resource/capacity utilization in the TSS department.
    • Performing system security patching and Backup Administration, SOX Compliancy, and administration on supported systems.
    • Ensure that systems and applications are performing optimally. This includes collecting data, analysis and executing required actions.
    • Research and investigation into latest technologies to optimise supported systems and services in TSS environment.
    • Follow ISO Quality Assurance Procedures. Maintain technical library and documentation and compiling and distribution of job orders as per change management procedures.
    • Provide inputs to the CAPEX, Opex budget formulation, and investigate ways to reduce costs (Cost efficiency) 

    The Ideal candiddate for this role will have:

    • Must have technical/professional qualifications: 
    • 3-year Degree/National Diploma related to engineering field of study (minimum).
    • 5-8 years Telecommunications experience and in a support/operations environment.
    • 3-5 years advanced experience on Java based applications and UNIX related systems and applications.
    • Advanced Experience in UNIX, UNIX ADMIN, and TCP/IP.
    • Advanced Experience in Database admin on MySQL

    Senior Specialist: Fixed Services FBP -JHB

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • This role provides support to the VSA Fixed Service LoB by preparing advanced decision-making models/tools and analytics to aid in product implementations, commercial and financial performance across all FTTH and VB Fixed business initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for the optimisation and automation of daily and monthly reports/ models aimed at improving team efficiency and modelling accuracy. The candidate will collect data and business strategy from all relevant stakeholders/teams and integrate into budget and rolling forecast process on a consistent basis. The suitable candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills to successfully guide and manage different stakeholders from products, pricing, commercial and finance through performance insights and commercial and/or financial levers to support executive and senior management strategic objectives.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Advance Analytical Support: 

    • Collect, integrate, and store raw data from different sources into Teradata platform in collaboration with Big Data to facilitate insight building.
    • Create and set up automated and optimised tables in Teradata to support daily and monthly automation.
    • Build and automate budget models and/or daily and month-end reporting.
    • Seek opportunities to improve business processes; models and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Commercial and FBP team.
    • Contribute to the development of differentiated; superior solutions that meet stakeholder and business requirements through analytical insights.
    • Supporting business continuity plans through upskilling junior team members and knowledge accessibility, through the creation of centralised data repositories for “how to” manuals, industry trends and best practice templates. 
    • Building financial models, analysing customer trends/behaviour. 
    • Discovering patterns in large data sets involving methods at the intersection of machine learning, statistics, econometrics, and database systems
    • Identify key trends - identify & predict impact of potential risk factors.
    • Identify causal impact and attribution.
    • Analyse POCs and market tests – Post implementation reviews on products/customer responses/pricing
    • Model and predict future performance of users and/or products.
    • Utilisation of intelligent methods to extract data patterns — the overall goal of which is to extract information from a dataset, and transform it into an understandable structure for further use in terms of quantifying financial impact.
    • Perform sensitivity analysis by stress testing models.

    Driving Business Impact: 

    • Collaborate and work closely with cross-function business partners to identify performance gaps & approach problem-solving in a structured manner.
    • Create insightful presentations and analysis that tell a story with focus on insights and actions, not just data.
    • Synthesize methodology and data into actionable business strategy and communicate findings to product, sales, and management teams – drive action and subsequent tracking, with support for implementation.
    • Month End:
    • Customer analytics on VSA Fixed Service P&L movements to explain financial impacts – analysis of surplus.
    • Pro-actively identify key risks on the basis that it will potentially impact performance.
    • Creation and updating of IBRO Model
    • Computing and automation of commission workings for the months.
    • Validation and review of all Revenue and Cost assurance reports for the month
    • Ad-hoc resolution of queries – in support of month-end reporting

    Monitor and evaluate implemented strategies and models. Including: 

    • Campaigns – ATL and BTL
    • Performance of and impact on strategic pillars – monitoring, analysing, synthesising, and communicating, with commercial teams
    • Support planning cycles and Long-Range Planning financial modelling
    • Provide the finance team with support in respect of financial reporting, planning and analysis for CBU FTTH and VB Fixed (P&L, A&R, Terminals)

    Communicate findings and make recommendations to stakeholders across the business: 

    • Manage the financial budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Deliver high quality reporting and financial planning to ensure VSA Fixed meets its objectives and financial targets.
    • Support central FP&A to ensure overall plan for VSA Fixed is consistent with Company targets and plan.
    • Engagement with key stakeholders for information into budget.
    • Rolling forecasts and scenario modelling – engage and challenge stakeholders in integrating current trends, future product rollouts and initiatives, supported by detailed driver-based modelling

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • BSc (Actuarial/Statistics/Applied Mathematics, CompSci), BScEng
    • Experience in data analytics and financial modelling.
    • 5+ years’ experience in FBP or financial modelling 
    • Technology and Telco experience would be advantageous.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of technology business model, product and services
    • Deep understanding of the business cases, drivers, models and risk 
    • Proficient in statistical tools like SAS, R etc. 
    • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, SQL, SAS, R.
