    Junior Financial Data Analyst

    About the Role 

    In this role you will be responsible for the identification, aggregation and reporting of private equity fund transactional data as well as private company characteristics and financial statement metrics. Data is compiled through the examination and analysis of fund manager reporting and other resources. This information helps our institutional asset owner clients better understand their portfolio composition as well as measure investment performance and risk.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Detailed review and analysis of private capital fund financial reporting and online resources to accurately identify relevant fund and company level financial data

    • Develop an in-depth understanding of fund valuations, capital flows, performance reporting methodologies, financial statement metrics and industry classification standards
    • Perform audits and other quality control functions for the content set

    Manager Relations Representative

    About the Role 

    The primary responsibility of this position is to request missing financials from General Partners, making use of both verbal and written communication mediums while creating working relationships with Managers. Additionally, responses received from request efforts are required to be reviewed and processed within a specific time while continuously striving toward efficient and timeous retrieval of outstanding/ requested financials.

    Role based in Stellenbosch and new joiners will be expected to work from the office. Flexible working may be permitted after probation. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with General Partner points of contact. Review internal data requests for potential inaccuracies prior to communicating externally. Escalate potential issues to appropriate departments if and when they arise while ensuring timeous resolution and responsiveness.
    • Update internal tools with a high degree of accuracy
    • Effectively process incoming communication and follow up timeously where required.
    • Complete assignments while maintaining established quality standards and SLAs.
    • Request missing financials from General Partners via both verbal and written communication channels.

    QA Analyst

    Analyst, Onboarding

    About the role:

    The Analyst, Onboarding will provide operational support to prospects, clients, and internal functional areas around administration of user access levels within Burgiss platforms. The role will require good communication skills as interacting with other functional areas and clients will be part of the daily workflow.

    Responsibilities:

    • Setup and administer user access levels within Burgiss platforms: responsible for granting and revoking user access in different applications following the set processes, security, and corporate standards; resolve access related issues
    • Assist the creation and maintenance of documentation (processes, procedures, manuals etc.) in the user access management area
    • Provide operational support to internal users at Burgiss
    • Set up access to demo/trial environments, working alongside the ‘Senior Analysts, Onboarding’, for clients and prospects within Burgiss platforms

    Data Product Analyst

    About the role: 

    This role will support the development and management of best-in-class private capital data and data-driven content across Burgiss solutions. If you have a passion for financial data and have exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills, this is a great opportunity to join a vibrant, fast growing and dynamic team that helps set the gold standard for research quality private capital data.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Gather, create and maintain requirements for all Burgiss data initiatives to ensure maximum integrity and usability of Burgiss data assets for transparency services, as well as market intelligence, benchmarks and other derived works. This includes but is not limited to the maintenance of data tracking policies & procedures applied across all Burgiss datasets, which include complete information on private capital funds and their underlying investments, as well as direct investments in buyout, venture capital, real estate, so on.
    • Serve as client-facing subject matter expert to support Sales and Client Service as necessary, and prepare/maintain professional data and analytics-driven publications, presentations and any related product collateral.
    • Assist in the development and management of market leading data and analytics-driven content across Burgiss solutions, including transparency services, market intelligence, benchmarks, and other derived works.
    • Work closely with other functional teams including Data Operations, Applied Research, Marketing, Client Service and others to inform, educate and learn in order to ensure on-target goals and maximum business impact.
    • Research independently and via client consultations in order to maintain the Burgiss Private Capital Classification System, the set of taxonomies used to classify private capital across all levels of investing, including funds, their underlying holdings, and direct investments.
    • Participate in ad hoc projects of strategic importance to the firm. 

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • 2-3 years of experience working on portfolio analysis, performance measurement, and/or portfolio reporting tools
    • Experience analyzing datasets in SQL
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or similar with a proven track record of academic excellence

    Preferred:

    • 1-2 years of experience working on private capital portfolio analysis, performance measurement and/or reporting, preferably in a product or consulting function
    • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or similar
    • CFA or CAIA charter holder
    • Domain expertise in private capital markets
    • Experience with private capital reporting
    • Data visualization skills

    Required Skills & Attributes: 

    • Domain expertise in the area of portfolio analysis, performance measurement and/or portfolio reporting.

    • 3 years of experience working on portfolio analysis, performance measurement, and/or portfolio reporting tools
    • Domain expertise in the area of portfolio analysis, performance measurement, accounting, and/or portfolio reporting.

    Preferred Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • 5+ years in a product management role working on enterprise web applications
    • 5+ years of experience
