    Junior Electrical Engineer - Bethal

    THE ROLE

    Be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of project electrical works which include the Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) design review, supply and construction scope. Oversight of the electric elements of the Civil Balance of Plant (cBoP)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Engineering Design and Quality

    • Be fully aware of project requirements associated with the electrical aspects of eBoP Design Scope of Works.
    • Ensure the electrical and SCADA design is progressed in a timely manner to meet interface requirements.
    • Manage the electrical and SCADA design interfaces.
    • Work with the Engineering Manager and Site Team on interfaces and overall design management.
    • Ensure the design progresses to meet interface requirements and contract compliance.
    • Manage design interfaces with relevant parties.
    • Regular site inspections and walkdowns to verify eBoP performance, contract adherence, and quality.
    • Close liaison with site team to manage issues in accordance with contract requirements, including commissioning and grid compliance testing.
    • Manage handover of electrical assets to Seriti Green Asset Management team, providing necessary quality and operation documents.

    Construction

    • Responsible for ensuring that all electrical works are of the required quality standards, and that they meet the specifications and design requirements.
    • Regular site inspections and walkdowns to verify the electrical contractor’s performance, contract adherence, quality etc
    • Conducting inspections, witnessing of material and component tests, and overseeing any necessary remediation work.
    • Close liaison with site team to ensure issues are being managed in accordance with the various contract requirements.
    • Regular/periodic reporting of electrical construction status
    • Support of the handover of the electrical assets to Seriti Green Asset Management team

    Contract Management:

    • Ensure all project contract requirements are implemented.
    • Produce procedures for contract requirements implementation as required.
    • Follow company policies associated with contracts.
    • Initiate contractual claims as required.
    • Prepare contract variations.
    • Lead the eBoP payment and variation certification process and manage contractual disputes if they arise.
    • Monitor and review financial data related to contract performance, forecasts, labor and variation costs, expected Gross Margin, and profits. Report discrepancies as they arise.
    • Assist with reporting and processing monthly cost recording and processing.
    • Monitor, review, and ensure all Business Units deliver required reports.
    • Provide Project Reports according to project and company requirements.
    • Assist with estimating and provide guidance on costings and commercial matters, including commercial schedules for tender submissions on other projects.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Tertiary qualification(s) in Electrical Engineering
    • Sound technical and commercial understanding of the Electrical and/or the Construction Industry
    • Good understanding of the appropriate South African and International Standards and Regulations
    • Desirable to have wind farm project delivery experience
    • Demonstrated high level of commercial acumen, with a proven ability to navigate complex deal structures.

    Junior Project Engineer - JHB

    THE ROLE

    • to manage and coordinate all aspects of wind farm projects, from planning and design to construction and commissioning, while ensuring compliance with regulations and environmental standards. Be responsible for delivering efficient, safe, and environmentally sustainable wind energy projects.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide wind turbine layouts and energy numbers as requested by project managers and the executive for all projects across the portfolio.
    • Work with lenders advisors to ensure that wind data and energy numbers are bankable and acceptable to lenders.
    • Liaise with the Windlab WindScape team to ensure ongoing uniformity of work and that international best practises are applied in energy modelling.
    • Site visits to assess proposed turbine and monitoring locations
    • Plan and coordinate on-site services such as monitoring campaigns, geotechnical and other engineering activities
    • Assist with work required for development approvals (noise assessments, visual impact, mapping, wind turbine layouts etc)
    • Manage the monitoring equipment on site (checking for equipment failure and organising maintenance)
    • GIS support/mapping for the regions
    • Provide other support for the development team as requested

    Junior Civil Engineer - Bethal

    THE ROLE

    • Be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of project civil works which include the Civil Balance of Plant
    • (cBoP) design review, supply and construction scope, Offsite upgrades for the transport route from Richards Bay to site, Oversight of the civil elements of the Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and Engineering
    • Ensure that the civil and structural design is completed on time so that the various interface requirements are met.
    • Identify key inspection/witness points and conduct key work inspections.
    • Ensuring that the civil works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
    • Collaborate with the Construction Site Manager and Project Manager to certify completion for milestone payments.
    • Work with the Electrical Engineer and the Engineering Manager on the interfaces and overall design management.
    • Ensure the civil design is progressed in a timely manner such that the various interface requirements are met, namely the road and foundations to accommodate the Wind Turbine deliveries and
    • Undertake reviews to ensure the various supplied materials are in compliance with the various contractual requirements and applicable laws.

    • Construction Responsible for ensuring that all civil works are of the required quality standards, and that they meet the specifications and design requirements.

    The Role

    The Health and Safety Officer will ensure the implementation and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and regulations within an organisation, promoting a safe and healthy work environment while minimising risks and preventing accidents or injuries. They are responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting safety training, and facilitating compliance with health and safety standards to protect employees and the workplace.

    Key responsibilities include

     

    HSSE Process Implementation:

    • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety, security, and environmental matters.
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, and security threats.

    • An understanding and working knowledge of safety, health & environmental legislation, in particular the OHS Act, National Environmental Management Act and related Regulations
    • Accreditation of the HSSE system under ISO 45001.
    • A strong technical foundation with a solid understanding of the full spectrum of major civil and electrical projects
    • Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, laws and regulations for windfarm construction and operations in South Africa
    • Ability to manage project strategy implementation while ensuring quality control and attention to HSSE details
    • Extensive experience in the areas of hazard identification techniques (HIRA, HAZOPS, HAZIDs, Pre-start-up readiness reviews, etc.) in addition to contractor assurance and reporting skills
