THE JOB AT A GLANCE
We require a candidate who has 3 years’ proven inventory management experience, preferably managing engineering spares. You will lead the engineering stores team and manage control inventory so that customers receive the right quantity and quality materials at the right time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Controlling and Monitoring Inventory
- Control and monitor inventory to ensure customers receive the right quantity and quality materials on time
- Manage stock losses by implementing appropriate inventory management controls
- Implement and maintain 5S
- Maintain correct and sufficient stock levels throughout the year
- Ensure stock is received and issued as per SOP
- Coach production and engineering teams on stores processes and procedures
- Ensure timely processing of issues and receipts
- Ensure accurate processing of issues and receipts; monitor customer adherence to stores procedures
Compiling and Issuing Documentation, SOP's, and Reports
- Compile and issue stores documentation and reports (stock availability, stock adjustments, stock take, etc.)
- Ensure that all documentation integrity is maintained
- Write and update work instructions to provide current guidance for training, reference, and audit purposes
Maintaining SHEQ Requirements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation
- Identify and address unsafe conditions & work practices
- Ensure compliance with procedures by utilizing relevant safety equipment and protective clothing
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous substances
- Ensure timely reporting and actioning of Health & Safety incidents
- Adhere to all housekeeping standards
Managing People
- Conduct discussions with all direct reports and develop staff IDPs and PDPs
- Conduct formal IDP reviews in Midyear and End of year
- Provide ongoing performance monitoring, feedback, and coaching at least monthly or as required
- Conduct capability gap analyses to determine both current and future development needs for all stores staff
- Implement detailed development plans for all direct reports
- Conduct formal development initiatives in partnership with HR
- Provide developmental coaching where necessary

- Do planned maintenance scheduling, update schedules and sign off on completed schedules
- Conduct plant inspections, and issue unplanned maintenance schedules
- Issue job cards and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure maintenance staff carry out correct repairs
- Ensure replacement equipment is properly overhauled for re-use
- Ensure maintenance schedules are properly and correctly completed
- Report all maintenance problems and repairs to Engineering Manager
- Report on all spares required for next maintenance stoppage
People Management
- Promote a high performance culture.
- Engage regularly with employees through invocoms, union engagements.
- Identify and develop Talent and competency gap closing actions.
- Ensure training is undertaken as per PDP’s
- Ensure workplace discipline and manage ER issues in line with Tiger Brands policies and procedures.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Ensure and maintain safe working conditions for employees and equipment based on risk assessments and compliance with OHSAct.
- Instill an environmentally conscious mindset within the manufacturing environment (H2O, noise pollution, utilities, landfill)
- Appointed as GMR 2.7 for the site
Finance
- Accurate and timely reporting (Supply Chain, environmental, scorecard)
- Instrument calibrations
- Assist in evaluating all readings taken on plant before submitting to Engineering Manager
- Conduct root cause analysis for all breakdowns
- Drive implementation of PM pillar of MECP
- Quality
- Equipment setting as per SOP
- Process check alignment
- Hygiene
- Equipment cleaning
- Root cause analysis and preventative actions
- Essential spares to be reviewed and available
- Compliance to BMR guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualification
- National N Diploma with Trade Test Electrical/Mechanical or National S Diploma electrical/Mechanical.
Minimum experience required:
3 – 5 Years of experience in a similar role with the following:
- Computer literate
- CMMS – experience of computerized management maintenance systems
- Understanding of practical implementation of OHSAct
- Bakery process and equipment experience- advantageous
- Finance – budgeting and CAPEX planning
- Continuous improvement
- Environmental knowledge

- Implement and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Ensure achievement of required score on Quality audits
- Consumer complaints
Logistics
- Manage departure times
- Ensure adherence to loading schedules
- Ensure conformance to quality standards
- Monitor inter-Bakery ordering and on time delivery
Bake Plan
- Ensure right product produced at right time
- Ensure sufficient levels of raw materials are available
- Ensure stock count is done and signed off daily
Hygiene
- Manage cleaning structures
- Enforce the use of correct PPE
- Manage stakeholders such as waste management, pest control.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are enforced and adhered to
Health, Safety and Environment
- Conduct monthly safety meetings
- Manage Safety Officers
