Role purpose:

• The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and leading the implementation of a solutions and capability architecture for a particular business capability / user journey, according to the overall digital vision and target architecture.  This role is responsible for the technical analysis and holistic solution design of future capabilities and features, including external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, and technical enablers / stories.  This role is responsible for reviewing the target architecture vision and roadmap, evaluating and prioritizing roadmap items, and translating them into designs and non-functional requirements.  This incumbent is responsible for providing support to engineering to ensure development of technical stories are aligned to defined architecture paradigms, principles, and patterns. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Translate the overall digital vision and target architecture into corresponding solution designs and change requirements 
• Design end-to-end solutions and cross domain integration and APIs 
• Define non-functional, operational, and quality requirements for solutions 
• Define technical stories to enable business capabilities, fostering re-use of existing components, and accept technical features following demos 
• Collaborate to plan the release of technical stories 
• Provide guidance to delivery teams to ensure alignment 
• Facilitate solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs 
• Manage technical debt and technology obsolescence at solution level 
• Advocate adoption of new technologies into solutions 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Technical / professional qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Analysis, or other related field  
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment 
• Extensive exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments 
• Extensive experience in business capability modelling and technical and solution architecture development in a digital business context 
• Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD, and BDD 
• Professional experience and knowledge of digital and Telecommunications industries strongly preferred

Role purpose:

• Responsible for all aspects of Virtualisation (VMware and Container Platforms) supporting a hybrid/multi-cloud operating model
• Design, plan, manage, support, operate and oversee the organisation’s private cloud platforms
• Assist with managing, automating, maintaining, monitoring and securing of all private cloud platforms 
• In addition, the candidate in this role is responsible for providing technical virtualisation expertise to team members and other technical/business areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the daily operations of our private cloud platforms, which may include patching, security updates, and vulnerabilities remediation  
• Developing / enhancing automation that enables management of our private cloud environment in an automated manner
• Provide operational support to application teams consuming the platform services
• Implement processes, standards, and governance of these platforms.  
• Implement and maintain RedHat Ansible for OpenShift configuration management.
• Incorporate group security controls and policy requirements into overall system design.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Technical / professional qualifications: 

• Grade 12 is essential 
• 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent qualification is preferable
• At least 3 -5 years relevant work experience including the following:
• Working experience with virtualisation platforms such as OpenShift (required) and VMWare (required)
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, Terraform, etc desirable

Role Purpose:

• The Business Development Manager role is based within the Vodacom Business unit.
• To develop and execute the IOT sales strategy for the South African market.
• To manage the IoT pipeline as allocated  (build the pipeline, manage the pipeline, close the pipeline, report the pipeline).
• Provide thought leadership to engage new clients and exceed expectations based on constructing and delivering a winning proposition and customer business cases for enterprise business customers.

Your responsibilities will include

• Responsible for direct and indirect IOT sales plan and its delivery against targets, in allocated opportunities.
• Identify and acquire IoT enterprises and customers by selling IoT solutions.
• Professionally present Vodafone/Vodacom IoT solutions, and negotiate and contract IOT deals.
• Input into annual business planning and monthly/quarterly reviews.
• Align with Regional, Global and National Account Managers in the region to develop, drive and execute IoT sales into accounts managed in the region.
• Develop a business development strategy for IoT in the allocated industry vertical.
• Working with relationship owners to provide consultative client engagement and thought leadership in defining and driving sales activity for demand generation and winning propositions.

Ideally you should possess the following:

• Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
• Relevant Bachelor's degree.
• 5 - 8  years of ICT experience.
• English language skills (verbal and written).
• Extensive history of successful Business-to-Business Sales in large, complex sales environments e.g. IOT / B2B telecoms/IT.
• Needs to have good strategic skills & tactical execution skills, since structuring and establishing the local regional market is a large part of the role.
• Understanding of the IoT value chain, IoT impact on business models & where IOT can be used as a transformational tool in verticals.
• Ability to engage at the CXX level.
• Be able to translate ICT principles, references, and jargon to customer business value.
• Deep understanding of the allocated industry vertical(s) business drivers and challenges, and the industry value chains.
