    BDO Wave - Talent Acquisition Specialist - Graduates (Port Elizabeth)

    Description

    • The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports with the delivery of the end‑to‑end graduate recruitment for BDO Wave. This includes implementing recruitment strategies, coordinating campus engagement and employer branding initiatives, and ensuring an excellent candidate and stakeholder experience. Adhoc support with experienced hire recruitment as required. The role works closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, UK Resourcing team, HR, and business leadership to convert approved workforce plans into effective talent acquisition actions. 

    Requirements
    EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

    Minimum requirements:

    • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 2-4 years’ experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally within professional services.

    Preferred requirements: 

    • Experience with graduate/early careers recruitment advantageous.
    • Strong analytical abilities for tracking recruitment outcomes.
    • Strong organisational and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with recruitment platforms, social media, and digital tools.
    • Experience coordinating recruitment across multiple regions and departments.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    End-to-End Recruitment Cycle

    • Own the full graduate recruitment process for allocated business units, including sourcing, screening, reference checks, interviewing, preparing provisional offers, MIE background checks and preparing final contract.
    • Maintain progress of all vacancies, ensuring timely movement through each hiring stage.
    • Escalate complex matters to the Talent Acquisition Manager.

    Candidate & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as the point of contact for candidates and hiring managers.
    • Guide hiring managers through interview processes and ensure alignment across stakeholders.

    Data, Reporting & Process Improvement

    • Maintain accurate recruitment data in Workday/ATS and vacancy trackers.
    • Manage the requisition process in Workday and ensure that it is up to date.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly recruitment status reports and identify bottlenecks. 
    • Contribute ideas for enhancing sourcing effectiveness, candidate experience, and recruitment processes.

    Graduate & Campus Recruitment Support

    • Coordinate logistics for campus events, assessments, and bursary interactions and ambassadors. 
    • Manage candidate pipelines for graduate and early careers recruitment with guidance from the Talent Acquisition Manager/Leadership

    Employer Branding & Marketing Collaboration

    • Work with HR and Marketing to develop recruitment content and support employer branding campaigns.
    • Use your social media for promoting vacancies.

    Compliance, Administration & Documentation

    • Ensure accuracy of candidate records, requisitions, contracts, and MIE/reference checks in line with ISQM1 requirements.
    • Maintain recruitment documentation and support onboarding processes where there is an overlap between recruitment and HR functions. (Hire candidate on Direct Hire to pull through to JML, handover candidates to HR who has signed final contracts to start onboarding process) 

    Professional Growth & Development

    • Build recruitment capability through continuous development, coaching, and exposure to strategic discussions.
    • Support others (interns, hiring managers) by sharing knowledge and recruitment best practices.

    Senior Accountant (Drafting) (Western Cape)

    • BDO South Africa has a vacancy for an Senior Accountant within the Business Services and Outsourcing in our Cape Town office.
    • The Primary Purpose of the Job is to assist with the drafting of Annual Financial Statements in compliance with IFRS or IRFS for SME's or GRAP.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Obtain drafting request form from trainee/manager.
    • Obtain prior year signed Annual financial statements (AFS) and case ware file from trainee/manager.
    • Confirm that the prior year signed Annual financial statements (AFS) agree to the prior year case ware file.
    • Obtain a Public interest score (PIS) working paper from trainee/manager.
    • Confirm from the trainee/manager whether the current year AFS should comply with IFRS or IRFS for SMEs.
    • Create a roll forward of the prior year case ware file.
    • Create new case ware file from scratch if it's a new client or if the prior year case ware file is not on the server.
    • Obtain a current year trial balance from trainee or manager and confirm that it balances.
    • Import the trial balance into case ware.
    • Map new accounts.
    • To obtain note disclosure information from audit team / client for inclusion in AFS and to assess reasonability of the information
    • Perform a spelling check.
    • Place case ware file on the server.
    • Email the Annual financial statements (AFS) to manager/trainee and explain all the issues encountered during drafting.
    • Follow up on review notes.
    • Follow up on whether the Annual financial statements (AFS) have been signed or not.
    • Assist trainees with case ware issues
    • Assist trainees with working papers when not balancing

    Requirements
    Qualifications:

    • BCom Financial Accounting and Tax as majors (preferred Hons. BCom accounting but not a requirement)
    • Competed SAIPA or SAICA articles preferred 
    • Honours (Desirable)

    Experience:

    • 3 years Specific drafting experience
    • 4-5 years Specific drafting experience (Desirable) 

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of accounting principles
    • Knowledge of accounting software
    • Working knowledge of most commonly used accounting packages (for reporting purposes and ad-hoc processing) 
    • Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements
    • Detailed knowledge of Caseware working papers

    BDO Wave _Agile Personal Assistant (Gqeberha) (Port Elizabeth)

    Description

    • We are recruiting an Agile Personal Assistant based in our Business Support Hub (BSH), which is part of our wider National Business Support (NBS) stream. The Business Support Hub provides administrative assistance across BDO nationally, supporting our external facing teams as well as our Practice Management Departments (PMDs).  The BSH and Agile PA team perform various tasks on behalf of these teams, allowing our external facing teams to focus on delivering exceptional client service.

     Requirements
    The Agile PA (Grade 130) role will be challenging and rewarding. You will work as part of a team of Agile PAs to offer dedicated and ad hoc PA cover, which will vary according to the area of the business.  Core responsibilities will include:

    • High quality PA cover to key stakeholders (partners and directors) and act as a trusted point of contact and support, capable of building relationships and making independent decisions within limits of authority. ​ 
    • Diary and inbox management - Monitor e-mails/meeting invitations of Partner(s)/Director(s) and reply on their behalf when needed
    • Co-ordinate events including liaising with delegates, booking meeting rooms and arranging refreshments/equipment as necessary
