    Inventory Manager - Imonti DC

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Boxer Superstores, a leading retail company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Inventory Manager, to be based at our Distribution Center in Imonti, Eastern Cape. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the management of stock, monitor warehouse capacity, and effectively lead a team of dedicated staff members. If you have a passion for logistics, stock management, and team leadership, this could be the perfect role for you. The role requires someone with managerial FMCG inventory experience.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehousing or distribution center operations
    • Proficient in working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Knowledge of Bomm system will be advantageous
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • A relevant supply chain diploma/degree would be beneficial
    • Managerial inventory experience within FMCG is non-negotiable

    Desired Qualities:

    • Deadline-driven with exceptional time management skills
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and some management experience

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure system stock and physical stock is aligned 
    • Manage periodic cycle counts and full stock counts within designated time frame 
    • Analyse stock movements 
    • Ensure replenishment of pick face 
    • Monitor continuous pick face let downs 
    • Manage stock right offs to a minimum 
    • Monitor aging stock 
    • Monitor short dated stock 
    • Manage warehouse capacity 
    • Confirming empty bins status

    Construction OHS Officer

    About the Role

    • We’re looking for an experienced Construction OHS Officer to join our OHS team at Head Office. This pivotal role ensures that all Boxer construction and development projects comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, internal policies, and best practices. The position focuses on contractor management, risk identification and evaluation, and fostering strong external and internal stakeholder relationships.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Requirements

    • Education: National Certificate in Construction Safety (National Diploma or 3-year Degree in Safety/Occupational Health and Safety advantageous).
    • Experience: Up to 3 years in construction, preferably with exposure to OHS and contractor management.
    • Professional Registration: SACPCMP (The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and relevant standards.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong relationship-building, problem-solving and project management skills.
    • Attention to detail, conceptual thinking and ability to work independently within broad guidelines.
    • Proficiency in relevant systems, processes and reporting tools (Aspirata-OHS System advantageous).

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and audit contractor management policies and procedures.
    • Identify and evaluate construction risks across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with OHS Act, Construction Regulations, SANS and insurance requirements.
    • Maintain and update risk registers, project profiles, and reports.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Architects, Facilities & Development Management) and external stakeholders (Principal Contractors, Department of Labour, Insurance Companies).
    • Conduct physical site inspections, review health and safety files, and ensure adherence to project-specific OHS requirements.
    • Investigate incidents, make recommendations, and conduct follow-ups on corrective actions.
    • Provide hands-on training and mentoring to Principal Contractors on OHS practices.
    • Promote teamwork, self-management, and alignment with Boxer’s values.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Receiving:

    • Ensure accurate delivery scheduling and adherence to documented procedures during stock reception.
    • Conduct spot checks on loads exceeding the value of R200,000.
    • Oversee that incoming stock aligns with the warehouse requirements.

    Replenishment:

    • Manage staff allocation and supervise the team effectively under the guidance of the supervisor.
    • Ensure compliance with documented procedures and accurate placement of stock in accordance with warehouse standards.
    • Report empty locations, confirm no stock, and address damaged rack reports.

    Inventory Management:

    • Investigate stock quality, reporting findings to the demand planning team and management for cycle counts.
    • Align physical counts to system stocks through adjustments and follow up on stock discrepancies.

    Reverse Logistics:

    • Accept all uplift notes from stores and sign off on stock write-offs.
    • Ensure accurate capture of write-offs on the system.

    Staff Management:

    • Conduct interviews, recruit, and appoint staff.
    • Identify training needs and supervise, monitor, and measure staff performance.

    Chep Pallets:

    • Ensure the return of all palettes to suppliers.
    • Oversee the coordination of Chep palettes according to established procedures.
