    Capabilities & Insights Analyst - Consumer Sector

    • As a knowledge professional you will work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge. You will leverage your knowledge and analytical rigor to develop capabilities, gain insights, and solve specific client business problems, in McKinsey’s Africa Consumer Practice (CPG and Retail). 
    • You will research, analyze, and synthesize key client questions, identifying data, information, and analyses to support problem-solving efforts and targeted industry research, including market developments, competition, corporate strategies, and technology trends. You will present findings through McKinsey-formatted end-products, including models, presentations, and written communications.
    • You will be able to develop knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge assets. You will proactively develop and codify knowledge on new and emerging consumer-based topics relevant to McKinsey and our clients in the industry. You will serve as a thought partner to consulting teams and clients.
    • You will work in the Johannesburg office as a part of local Africa Capabilities and Insights Team.     Compliance Specialist, Diligence

    • In this role, you will execute and implement our Firm’s Center of Excellence (COE) Diligence program. You will play a critical role in helping scale our Firm’s diligence process from a global perspective.
    • You will help evolve the way in which diligence is performed on new and existing clients and higher-risk third parties, amongst others, by supporting refinement of our approach to risk ratings and prioritization criteria, maintenance of relevant data, and informing the view of our risk posture and to ensure appropriate action to address risk findings.
    • You will conduct the due diligence process and prepare comprehensive memos for key stakeholders.
    • You will help drive operational excellence, process improvements and operational model enhancements within the COE Diligence.

    Your qualifications and skills

    • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree(s) and/ or applicable professional certifications (e.g., Juris Doctor or CPA) preferred

    Your qualifications and skills

    • 5+ years of experience in project management some coming from a consulting environment with high problem solving ability
    • Proven experience delivering and execution business transformation projects such as: turnaround, restructuring, capability building, organisational structure, and setting up a Transformation office

    Executive Assistant

    • In this role, you will assume responsibility for planning, organizing and executing major projects. You will also be responsible for planning client and internal meetings, conference calls, zoom meetings, conferences/events and lunches/dinners.
    • You will collaborate with clients, client administrative contacts and with department members in creating a smooth workflow including soliciting assistance from others as needed, helping others as appropriate, and maintaining follow-through. You will have flexibility to ensure appropriate, timely actions and that deadlines are met. You will also act as liaison for assigned individuals to ensure that various departments provide requested support in an efficient, timely manner.

    Knowledge Analyst - Minerals Processing

    Your Impact

    • You will be assisting McKinsey consulting teams and mineral processing operations, providing expert client service in strategic and operational topics and contributing to new product development.  
    • In this role you will demonstrate expert client service in mining, which includes running operational excellence diagnostics at mines to determine potential opportunities for transformation. You will assist clients in data collection, perform quantitative analysis, and incorporate qualitative observations into diagnostic reports.

    Learning Specialist

    Your Impact

    • In this role, you will perform a variety of operational tasks to support learning programs. Your specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, organizing and delivering programs (on-demand, virtual, and in-person), managing projects, driving process improvements, modifying programs, assessing program impact, and managing/analyzing data. Regular tasks may involve managing program venue logistics, coordinating with faculty, overseeing communications, monitoring budgets and processing invoices, and collecting feedback through surveys.  
    • This role requires you to take on two key areas of responsibility:

    Regional Responsibilities

    • You will lead the Associate Partner cohort for the region. This includes developing learning priorities and plans for Associate Partner-level colleagues, defining learning objectives and needs, creating the learning calendar, and identifying appropriate delivery channels, e.g., Learning Days, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMA) sessions, etc. You will collaborate with the central Associate Partner (AP) learning team to ensure that programs leverage the latest knowledge and align with the firm’s approaches and materials. Additionally, you will work closely with local office stakeholders to ensure that all programs are relevant and tailored to the local context and priorities.
    • In this capacity, you will also serve as the strategic lead for the upper-tenure cohort. This involves reviewing the overall strategy and journey for Team Leader (TL) transitions to Associate Partner, and working closely with the TL cohort lead to integrate learning journeys, experiences, and communications. Furthermore, you will support the EEMA Learning Manager in executing the EEMA Regional Learning strategy and contribute to regional learning projects, such as program improvements, content updates, and cross-functional initiatives with the firm’s Learning team.

    Africa Office Responsibilities

    • You will support the Learning Manager in designing and rolling out Personal Development Journeys for the Africa Office, specifically for the Engagement Manager and Partner cohorts, in collaboration with external coaches. You will take the lead on all aspects of program delivery. Additionally, you will support the office and its locations with local learning programming by acting as a thought partner on program design and impact. You will enable local teams to deliver their agendas by sharing best practices, processes, and materials, while collaborating to ensure alignment with regional and firm-wide learning agendas. This approach will help optimize shared resources and ensure a complementary learning strategy.
    • As a Learning Specialist, you will support in the execution and rollout of the Regional Learning strategy within EEMA, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, with a special focus on Africa. This is a full-time position in Learning.
