    Truck Driver

    Job Description    

    • Responsible for driving the vehicle to designated destinations safely for the delivery of product within deadlines to customers, Depots and Crop Advisors, maintaining concentration.
    • Provide super care in the delivery of hazardous products.
    • Work with the support team to provide exceptional customer service

    Required outputs: functional

    Vehicle:

    • Complete a vehicle check list on a daily basis before and after each delivery and/or collect. Report any defects. Responsible for driving the vehicle within the law.
    • Assist local authorities in emergency situations involving incumbent’s vehicle.
    • Ensure cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and outside. Ensure vehicle parked correctly in designated area and that it is locked at the end of each day.
    • Inform Team Leader when vehicle is due for service. Assists Despatch Team Leader when reporting breakdown details.
    • Report accidents or injuries to Despatch Team Leader or Warehouse Team Leader immediately.
    • Responsible for vehicle’s petro card and for refuelling the vehicle as and when required.

    Deliveries:

    • Makes on average 1 delivery trip per day to different Depots.
    • In season, on occasion, required to carry out driving responsibilities beyond normal hours.
    • Checks load on vehicle corresponds to respective transfer documents and/or delivery notes. Signs the transfer note acknowledging that stock loaded on the vehicle is correct.
    • Ensure that load on vehicle is safely and securely positioned. Assist with loading and offloading of vehicle. Ensure customer’s load is delivered timeously.
    • Ensure that incumbent is in possession of necessary transfer document and/or delivery note/s as well as hazchem documentations and TREM cards.
    • Ensure that transfer documents and/or delivery notes are signed by the receiving Depots and that they are returned to the Admin Assistant.
    • Confirms and signs for any delivery discrepancies. Required to work safely and neatly at all times.
    • Company Cellphone: Required to look after and use the company provided cellphone in a responsible manner.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Minimum education Grade 12
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in distribution, production or warehousing as a Heavy Duty (Code 14) Driver.
    • Must have at least 2 years’ driving experience with a heavy duty vehicle.
    • Will require up to 1 week’s full time training.
    • Required to drive a heavy duty vehicle, be medically fit to drive and be in possession of a valid Code 14 (heavy duty) driver’s license.
    • Must be in possession of a valid PDP and Hazchem driving permit.
    • Ability to drive a forklift and must be in possession of a valid forklift driver’s license and must be medically fit to drive a forklift.
    • Must maintain medical fitness to drive a forklift to have the forklift driver’s license renewed successfully.
    • Very accurate and able to work under pressure.
    • Possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Possess a sound knowledge of all Acts, i.e. hazardous chemicals road transportation, etc.
    • Ability to work independently as well as within a team and be deadline driven.
    • Must be able to report to a Despatch Team Leader.
    • Must be safety orientated.

    Millwright

    Job Description    

    • Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance on the plant.
    • Maintain maintenance connection works orders and Preventive Maintenance Schedules.
    • Create site reports and update Maintenance Connection of any Equipment change on site 
    • Carry out routine inspections and functionality checks as per schedule on different plant sections and raise a works order for defects/out of calibration equipment.
    • Pneumatic and Electronic calibrations 
    • Installation and maintenance of Analog Gauges/Indicators
    • Fault finding on instrument loops and electrical circuits
    • Panel design and wiring
    • Remove and replace control valves and electric motors
    • Execute works orders and scheduled task as per CMMS

    Qualifications & Experience

    Technical Advisor

    Job Description    

    • To provide highly specialised in-field support and expert knowledge on Small Grains (Wheat, Barley, Canola, Oats), to the Crop Advisors and Regional Managers in terms of AECI Plant Health’s in-house products, as well as Third Party products, so as to enhance sales.
    • Work closely with Advisory Manager to enhance the Sales Team’s overall knowledge of crop programmes and in-house products through specialised training and ongoing mentorship.
    • Provide advice on complex technical matters to further the knowledge of the Advisory Team, Regional Managers and Crop Advisors on in-house and Third Party product and services across all product portfolios.
    • Provide expert assistance to all Crop Advisors based in their specific regions, particularly in terms of complex complaints and claim management processes where additional support and technical knowledge is required.
    • Ensure that current crop programmes and services within the Advisory Dept adhere to local regulations and labels and make recommendations to Advisory Manager for improvement where appropriate

    Required outputs: Functional

    • Assume responsibility for the development of spray programs incorporating in-house products for the clients which integrate agrochemical and nutritional products and adhere to MRL guidelines and label recommendations.
    • Use crop programmes and technical support services to drive sales strategies in the region.
    • Monitor the correct implementation of recommendations.
    • Carry out regular crop inspections during season to find solutions for problems found and make recommendations for corrective action to be taken
    • Perform relevant in-house product trials on Small Grains to build knowledge and confidence in products.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Minimum educational requirement Grade 12 with post matric tertiary qualification of a B.Agric/B.Sc Agric degree.
    • Must possess AVCASA or BASOS accreditation and be prepared to work towards acquiring both accreditations within a reasonable period of time.
    • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in the agricultural industry in agrochemicals and/or agriculture and/or nutrition.
    • Must possess good customer relationship skills.
    • Must possess technical knowledge and experience in Small Grains.
    • Computer literate MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
    • Knowledge of .NET would be advantageous.
    • A sound working knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental practices is essential.
    • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license, have own reliable transport and be medically fit to drive.
    • Must be able to travel to support all allocated Crop Advisors and service cross-border clients if required.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Must possess good communication (verbal and written), planning, organisation, presentation, technical, people and presentation skills.

    Customer Services Co-ordinator

    Job Description    

    • Respond to stock requests received from Crop Advisors/Depots.
    • Execute efficient and accurate ordering and expediting orders 
    • Expedite stock requests and communication of requests with Crop Advisors and depot personnel.
    • Perform Buying task: Placing of POs, Sending of Orders to suppliers, follow up on orders, provide feedback on orders.
    • Monitor excess stock levels at Crop Advisor warehouses.
    • Follow up on GRN’s from Crop Advisors with direct deliveries and stock transfers (GIT’s).
    • Participate in stock takes
    • Prioritise tasks and manage time correctly in order to complete daily tasks timeously.

    • Investigate customer complaints so as to ensure customer centricity and advise process to be followed.
    • Report customer complaints to the relevant Management staff member and relevant actions taken.
    • Report outcome of investigation and resolution of problem to the relevant Management staff member.
    • Ensure continued communication throughout the process with the customer up to resolution of the problem, keeping the Warehouse Team Leader updated.
    • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained in areas responsibility.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Minimum education Grade 12 with a diploma in Logistics, Procurement, Operations and/or Supply Chain.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ hands on experience in logistics, distribution, Production or warehousing environment within the agricultural chemical industry.
    • Must have proven track record for excellent customer service.
    • Possess general knowledge of the agricultural chemical industry and a knowledge of the products that are supplied within the agricultural chemical industry and their uses.
    • Strong admin functionality.
    • Computer knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Word) and MS Outlook. 
    • Must possess a working knowledge of Syspro.
    • Knowledge of SAP advantageous.
    • Knowledge of .NET would be advantageous.

    Senior Project Manager: Fixed Term Contract (6-month contract)

    Job Description    

    • Lead and develop Process Design Packages during Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, Basic and Detailed Engineering. Ensure that the process design intent and process design basis is clearly defined 
    • Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs),Process Descriptions, design basis documentation and process design criteria, Process Equipment design and associated sizing, Datasheets, Control and Operating philosophies, execution plans, commissioning plans and operational readiness plans
    • Performing simulations using appropriate computer-based process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, HTRI etc) and Performing relief valve calculations
    • Demonstrates strong understanding of engineering deliverables at the different stages of a project, and implements the relevant controls to ensure that design and engineering complies to best practices;
    • Develop and roll out standard process engineering documentation 
    • Commissioning and start-up 
    • Providing input to process safety reviews
    • Ensures that all project risk assessments, HAZOPs and constructability reviews are effectively undertaken with the required documentation and stakeholders. Owner Process Team representation at design reviews, safety reviews and vendor meetings as necessary 
    • Custodian of Process Engineering deliverables
    • The provision of technical specialist support to the Owner Team, when required. 
    • Ensure that appropriate input is obtained from R&D or Licensors as applicable during the relevant stages and include input in HAZOP, PFD and P&ID (MFD) reviews and other activities that requires licensor / R&D attendance 
    • Review and comment on the design and engineering work by the contractor/licensors/vendors to ensure compliance with project objectives. The extent of the reviews will depend on the criticality of the area/item involved 
    • Establish the correctness and accuracy of the design through a systematic process of process design verification. 
    • Ensure that battery limit conditions and site interfaces are properly controlled and managed via approved Interface Documentation. 
    • Ensure that the Engineering Contractor establish acceptable procedures to implement the appropriate Project Safety Risk Management studies, philosophies, reviews and reports. 
    • Perform process design audits to determine adherence to established procedures, instructions, specifications, codes, standards and special requirements 
    • Evaluate the appointment of the Engineering Consultant/s and perform an evaluation of process engineering capabilities during the bid evaluation process
    • Ensure that process engineering on the project is developed seamlessly  and interface with all the required stakeholders, engineering disciplines, research and development and business unit representatives
    • Accountable for ensuring that a flow sheet and the design thereof meets process design intent, is technically correct, complies to design, requirements and operational philosophies. 
    • Accountable for the development and implementation of an engineering track quality plan tailored to the scope for the project phase 
    • Assist the Project Manager in meeting the overall project and business objectives
    • Co-ordinate interfaces between the IBL’s, OBL’s and Infrastructure 
    • Interface/co-ordinate with Business Owner, Operations and other engineering disciplines ensuring technical correctness of interface documents 
    • Responsible for ensuring successful technical integration with the existing plants, e.g. shutdown philosophies, start up philosophies, utilities integration etc.
    • Oversee the development and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning plans.
    • Coordinate integration testing with existing plant systems.
    • Development of operating guidelines and support with the development of standard operating procedures
    • Manage process related projects from initiation through to implementation
    • Active representation and participation in the annual capital budgeting process
    • Support the Group Corporate Project’s department with continuous improvement of the project governance procedure, and its roll out across the Group

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • BScEng/BEng (with honours) in Chemical Engineering. PrEng would be advantageous 
    • Management certification/Qualification would be advantageous
    • Preference will be given to a candidate that has 15 years’ process engineering and project management experience
    • The ideal candidate has strong engagement skills, is self-motivated and driven with a focus on adding value through the on-time delivery of strategic projects
    • Deliver results through quality and safety awareness, planning and organizing, decision making and execution to readily deliver value
    • Firm understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Demonstrated Project Management track record, and ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders
