    Assistant Banqueting Manager

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • To supervise, co-ordinate and direct the prompt, cordial and efficient service of food and beverages to ensure that service standards are maintained during service.
    • Implement systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
    • Responsible for assisting with reporting deadlines, payroll & rosters.
    • Conduct daily briefings with the team.
    • Monitoring and controlling of various operating equipment, standards and inventories.
    • Assist with monitoring and controlling food and beverage costs and variances.
    • Must ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with Leading Quality Assessment (LQA) standards.
    • Assist in all F&B outlets on a regular or semi-regular basis as and when required.
    • Coordinate the communication between front of the house and back of the house staff.
    • Perform regular inspection of food and beverage preparation and presentation to maintain the required standards.
    • Assist in controlling and monitoring the staffing levels on a daily basis to ensure that the month to date staffing is kept to budget and managed using the On-Track labour management system.
    • Manage, control and update the On-Track system on a daily basis.
    • To report all maintenance and repair problems that require attention to the relevant parties and to ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken as and when required.
    • Ensure that all storage areas are kept neat and clean at all times.
    • Participate in monthly stock-takes as and when required.
    • Assist with the control of staff rostering, permanent and contract, to ensure adequate coverage according to business levels.
    • Manages the process to ensure no beverage items ever reaches its expiry dates.
    • Assist with the implementation of formal training plans and to conduct on-the-job training sessions for all employees on a regular basis.
    • Conduct daily briefing meetings with the team.
    • Constantly monitor guest complaints, compliments and suggestions.to ensure prompt, efficient and accurate service.
    • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner and escalate to the Assistant F&B Manager when required.

    Requirements

    What You Bring:

    • Diploma / Degree from a reputable hotel school.
    • Must have 3-5 years F&B supervisory management experience in a luxury hotel environment.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Customer service skills.
    • Excellent leaderships skills.
    • Knowledge of silverware – advantageous.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Basic knowledge of food cost, employee scheduling and payroll – advantageous.
    • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge.
    • Working knowledge of general restaurant operations.
    • Familiar with point-of-sale computers and software.

    Groups and Events Manager

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Manage the day to day functioning of the Groups and Events team and the efficient running of the office.
    • Quote and contract all potential business through all available booking channels.
    • Participate in long-range planning meetings with regards to upcoming events and provide direction for these activities.
    • Ensure that all details pertaining to Group or Event functions e.g client files, contract and confirmation letters are accurate, recorded and relevant parties are kept up to date as required.
    • Conduct in-house site inspections, as and when required, that result in profitable bookings

    Requirements

    What You Bring:

    • Diploma or degree from a reputable hotel school – preferred
    • Must have a minimum of 5 years Groups/Events/Conferencing/Sales Experience within a luxury environment -preferred and previous management experience is essential
    • The ability to forecast and write accurate reports
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Order Taker

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Responsible for answering the telephones using the appropriate etiquette, in accordance to LQA standards.
    • Take the guest order, always trying to use suggestive/ upselling techniques.
    • Provide an expected delivery time for the guest’s order. 
    • Ensure guests special requests are communicated to the Kitchen.
    • Monitor guest orders to ensure all orders are delivered on time.
    • Accurately posts payments to the POS system.

    Requirements

    What You Bring:

    • Matric (Grade 12) qualification. 
    • 1- 2 years relevant experience in a similar position within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
    • Excellent telephone etiquette. 
    • Good communication skills. 
    • Exceptional customer service orientation. 
    • Knowledge of food menu and wine list

    Doorman

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Create a welcoming environment for hotel guests and facilitate their arrival and departure.
    • Assist guests out of their vehicles as they enter the port cochere. 
    • Assist guests as they come in and out of the hotel entrance.
    • Work closely with the Concierge and Front Desk to ensure the smooth handling of guest luggage.
    • Conduct all duties in accordance with departmental, Leading Quality Assurance and hotel standards.
    • Maintain all Front of House areas in an orderly manner – general upkeep of the area, which includes the entrance, sidewalk, back of house storeroom, the port cochere and surrounding area to entrance (benches, trash cans and pot plants etc.).
    • Monitor the workflow and activity of the porters.
    • Maintain and upkeep all departmental equipment, which includes polishing of the trolleys, umbrellas etc.
    • Assist with Porter duties as and when required.
    • Be well versed in all hotel services, hours of operation, key personnel, hotel policies, etc. to assist guests with queries.
    • Assist with other departmental and hotel duties as assigned by management occasionally or on a daily basis.
    • Ensure the free flow of movement in and out of the building and, if need be, help in the carrying of luggage and receiving packages delivered.

    Requirements

    • Experience providing exceptional customer service, handling food and beverages, and working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Friendly and attentive demeanor; ability to answer questions, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive dining experience for guests.
    • Strong communications skills to interact with guests, take orders accurately and communication with the kitchen and other staff members.
