    Control Room Operator

    Qualification Requirement

    • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4
    • National Certificate Mineral Processing Level 2 or equivalent Minerals Processing Qualification

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Process Operator
    • Control Room exposure is essential
    • DMS Plant experience
    • English language proficiency
    • Computer literacy
    • Competent with Scada/ HMI Systems
    • Time management skills

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Control and monitor all process equipment through information received from the HMI System
    • Act promptly on process defects as indicated by the HMI System
    • Identify and report any potentially unsafe conditions
    • Coordinating Process Operators and Attendants on the shift to act promptly on process defects
    • Report abnormal and unusual conditions immediately
    • Monitor and record process parameters such as flows, pressures, levels, and temperatures to ensure effective operation
    • Interact and communicate with all Process and Engineering staff and Management
    • On instruction call-out appropriate Maintenance staff
    • Complete production log-sheets
    • Perform general housekeeping duties
    • Ensure compliance with NCPO Health and Safety responsibilities

    Engineering Artisan - Boilermaker (Shift)

    Qualification Level

    • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4
    • Valid Section 13 Trade Test / Section 26(D) Certificate required
    • Valid driver’s license code B, EB or C1
    • Own transport to attend to call outs

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • 2 years’ experience as a Boilermaker in a DMS Plant environment is required
    • Able to do CO2 welding
    • Able to fabricate pipe work of any size pipe
    • General fabricating
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces and to work at heights
    • Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures and provide input
    • Operating of Huckbolting machine will be an added advantage
    • Operating of thread cutting machine will be an added advantage
    • English language proficiency
    • Time management skills

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements, standards and specifications
    • Perform daily inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, operational and Company standards to report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Supervisor
    • Develop, modify, construct and install all types of trade related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
    • Ensure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completion
    • Continuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency to improve trade specific equipment and systems
    • Consult with production teams on maintenance activities that affects production
    • Supports the achievement of equipment/ machine availability and production performance levels
    • Ensure that maintenance related information is recorded and reported to the relevant planning office to support the planned maintenance /asset maintenance system

    • Must have experience in pump maintenance and repairs
    • Must be able to do alignment
    • Must have knowledge in changing bearings
    • Operating of Huckbolting and thread cutting machine will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge of maintaining MV motors will be an added advantage
    • Medium Voltage competency skills (certificated) will be an added advantage
    • Not colour blind
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights
    • Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures
    • Must be willing to work shifts and without supervision
    • English language proficiency
    • Time management skills

    Maintenance Data Capturer

    Qualification Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4
    • Valid Trade Test Certificate will be advantageous

    Experience and Skills Requirements 

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering planning or maintenance environment
    • English language proficiency
    • Time management skills
    • Computer literate in MS Office
    • Relevant planned maintenance system training

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Maintenance Support:

    • Load new task lists and update existing task lists on the system
    • Capture, update and maintain maintenance plans

    Maintenance Scheduling:

    • Determine maintenance needs and coordinate with relevant internal or external Artisans
    • Create Work Orders and allocate the task lists to the relevant Supervisors
    • Create Requisitions for non-stock items and allocate components
    • Release Purchase Requisitions
    • Check material and follow up on material availability and arrange expediting if necessary
    • Release planned work and monitor the forward workload
    • Estimate Work Order costs
    • Allocate resources, arrange weekly planning meetings and create maintenance schedules if necessary.
    • Estimate the cost of scheduled work for the week
    • Communicate and issue the schedule
    • Print Work Orders as required to ensure maintenance according to the maintenance plan

    Contractor Management:

    • Optimise resource levelling through the use of internal or contractor Artisans for planned work
    • Verify contractor attendance the week before the job is scheduled to start
    • Collate all required paperwork for legal appointments.

    Process Shift Supervisor

    Qualification Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4
    • National Certificate Mineral Processing Level 2 or equivalent Mineral Processing qualification will be advantageous

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Process Section Supervisor and/or Control room Operator
    • Minimum 5 years’ mineral processing experience on DMS Plants.
    • Plant commissioning experience will be advantageous
    • Familiar with Control Room Protocols and Scada Systems operation
    • Multiple commodity experience will be viewed as beneficial
    • English language proficiency

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Investigate, diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements
    • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations and analyse previous shift information
    • Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters
    • Report equipment efficiencies according to the production requirements
    • Communicate equipment availabilities and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays
    • Attend to breakdowns immediately to minimize down time
    • Ensure the adherence to the specified process parameters within the respective sections
    • Identify causes of spillage in the plant and generate suggestions to eliminate spillages
    • Ensure adherence to Process Standards and Procedures, COP Master File, SHEQ and legislative requirements
    • Continuously monitor production information to ensure the attainment of shift objectives
    • Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability
