    Finance LOS Business partner – Consulting and Risk Services

    Responsibilities:     

    • Plan, budget and forecast at sub-LoS and Cost Centre level. 
    • Provide support on opportunity pricing and budgeting. 
    • Liaise with the CoE (Centre of Excellence) and/or In-country finance lead on complex and cross border transactions such as withholding tax, exchange control, etc. 
    • Provide commentary and analysis on LoS management and engagement reports e.g., Operating Statements, WIP (Work in Progress), Debtors, etc. 
    • Act in the capacity as the liaison for billing and project setup, maintenance, provisions and adjustments for the assigned LoS (s) 
    • Be the subject matter expert and consultant to the LoS on issues such as contract and project creation, WIP valuations and general NIC management. 
    • Update project budgets in Oracle 
    • Oversee the local finance project support role to ensure procurement and region/cost centre specific financial administration is up to date. 
    • Drive communication and collaboration between the Line of Service and the different finance teams 
    • Report and analyse on project, contract, Partner, LoS, Cost centre and client levels.
    • Conduct ad-hoc tasks/projects to support business requirements.
    • Develop an intermediate knowledge of the financial reporting systems, controls and processes that operate across business within the business at LoS and Cost Centre level.
    • Develop an understanding of the business’s financial reporting policies and risk management frameworks in order to assess compliance and guide interpretation and training in relevant areas.
    • Ensure alignment of processes with organisational strategy and take accountability for relevant processes within the area of responsibility and ensure delivery and maintenance of standardised processes and controls.
    • Support engagement teams on finance aspects throughout the engagement life cycle from pricing of project through to collections
    • Support engagement teams with and resolve complex Oracle queries (Projects, Contracts & Invoicing). 
    • Support LoSFL with generation & distribution of Business Unit, Network (Competency/Industry), Regional & Country Schedules. 
    • Support engagement teams with WIP & AR Management (Set up meetings with EPs/EMs)
    • Support staff in business with Timesheet management (Outstanding timesheets, Charge out Rates, etc.). 
    • Support engagement teams with Days in Investment Management. 
    • Monitor and report on collections & Billings.
    • Support with on-boarding Basic Oracle Training. 
    • Support with completion of bulk upload templates. 
    • Support with Client & Employee Data Quality & Maintenance (Peoplesoft, Salesforce, Oracle and rate card management). 
    • Conduct ad-hoc tasks/projects to support business requirements.
    • Initiating, obtaining approval and processing of charges between chargeable and non-chargeable project codes where relevant.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management in a professional services environment.
    • Minimum of first degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline.
    • Relevant professional certifications e.g., Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), CA (SA), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA), or its equivalent is an advantage.

    Private Tax Specialist

    • Tax consultant focusing on the unique tax considerations of nonprofits with a primary focus on income tax and good understanding of VAT and PAYE matters specifically pertaining to the industry (60%) and general tax compliance and consulting for taxable private companies (40%). 

    Audit of tax (tax status & compliance reviews):

    • collecting and considering tax and legal documentation to test compliance with tax exempt status conditions and extent of the application of the exemption to different income streams. 

    Tax compliance for non-profits:

    • including the consideration of, consulting in respect of eligibility for tax exemption and end-to-end application to the SARS Tax Exemption Unit; In person attendance of meetings with the SARS Tax Exemption Unit in Pretoria to sort out outstanding, complex and/or urgent tax administration matters; Preparation/review/ consulting on and submission of IT12EI. IT3(d) and IT3(t) tax returns/declarations; consideration of legal compliance matters, consulting and communication with the client and SARS TEU on the impact of the updates/changes on its tax status. 

    Tax consulting:

    • reviewing of matters which may impact on the tax status of an existing nonprofit and drafting tax opinions, applications for nonbinding tax opinions or SARS rulings / setting up new nonprofit entities, considering and consulting on matters which may affect the ongoing compliance of non-profits with their respective tax exemption conditions. 

    Assignment engagement and completion support

    • (preparation of proposals, statements of work, scoping documents, project plans, client acceptance documentation, collection and capturing of assignment documentation, preparation of reviewed documents for final signoff and capturing of signed document on client file (document system)

    Business Recovery Services Manager

    Qualifications / Certifications required:

    • Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Accounting with CA (SA);
    • Bachelor of Business Science with Honours in Finance / CA (SA);
    • Engineer or relevant professional qualification (e.g. MBA, APICS, CPIM); or
    • CFA, CIMA or other relevant related degree / professional designation.

    Experience required:

    • Experience of operational improvement programmes
    • Advisory experience from a management consultancy, advisory firm or as an 'internal consultant' in a corporate
    • Operations experience, across one or more sectors: engineering, financial services, retail, industrial, consumer, high tech, utilities, logistics, telecoms and energy
    • Proven P&L analysis, cash flow and balance sheet work

    • We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our growing team to work on high-profile clients experiencing stress / distress to their business model and who require turnaround or transformation with a financial, and/ or an operational restructuring lens, spanning a broad range of industry sectors. 
    • You’ll provide advice and assistance around restructuring and/or turnaround.  Typically you will work with clients to identify and implement rapid, tactical and sustainable operational restructuring measures, for example you will advise on:
    • Independent business reviews,
    • Turnaround strategies, with specific performance intervention measures and targets,
    • Strategic options analysis,
    • Contingency planning reviews,
    • Cost out and EBITDA optimisation initiatives
    • Short-term cash flow reviews and forecasting, helping clients see and control their cash positions

    Financial Advisory and Restructuring Senior Manager

    • Work alongside other PwC teams, including specialist lines of service and sector experts; and
    • Advising in relation to Business Rescue proceedings (Chapter 6 of the Companies Act, 2008).
