    Initial Trainees

    Description

    • This is an opportunity to develop a career with Rentokil Initial by becoming an Hygiene expert with the opportunity to develop into Sales, Operations or Technical Support and further to Management and Leadership roles.
    • Initially you will enrol on the Rentokil Initial South Africa trainee programme where you have a learning experience to build your technical knowledge and skills in a practical work environment This will be followed by our Aspiring Sales Programme to develop your sales knowledge, skills and experience.
    • During the trainee program you will complete internal technical and sales training and undertake real field based operational and sales roles.
    • Following an assessment at the end of the 6 month trainee programme, if successful and vacancies are available, you will be given the opportunity to apply for placement in Sales, Operational or Technical roles and join our Colleague Development Programs giving you an opportunity to further your career with us to became one of our leaders of the future.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Recent Graduate - Life Sciences, Biology, Zoology, Animal Science, Business Management, Retail Management, Events Management, or Hospitality Management field of study is preferred 
    • Drivers Licence - essential (confident driving ability) 
    • Computer literate 
    • No previous experience required
    • A passion for customer service excellence is essential

    Junior Business Analyst- Claremont - WC

    KEY WORK OUTPUTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Financial reporting 

    Delivery of accurate and timely management information:

    • Daily and weekly reporting of operational and sales information.
    • Monthly reporting of key accounting, sales and operational performance along with regular performance reviews with operational management.
    • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.
    • To provide commentary and investigate changes in management information to add value to reports and aid understanding of changing business performance.
    • To respond to queries with data accuracy and follow up with investigations of data sources where required.
    • To change and adapt management information as required to meet business needs.
    • To provide Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning support to the Finance Director and the  management accountant. 
    • To provide assistance and support to the  Management Accountants to ensure the accuracy of accounting information.
    • To actively support the Finance Team in the successful delivery of key business initiatives and projects.
    • Assist in commission calculations

    Analysis

    • Maintain open and good relations with the operations director / Sales Director / Area Commercial Financial Controller and the branch managers. 
    • Support  their understanding of key financial processes and measures, and their role in providing timely and good quality information to support business processes.
    • Challenge and develop their understanding of commercial performance measures and suggest ways to improve.
    • Provide assistance and support to their reporting and data needs to manage their business.
    • Understand challenges, customer and business performance issues that are specific to individual areas.
    • Provide explanation and understanding of Budget targets to branch managers, and collate feedback to Finance of key issues.

    Price and Margin Analysis

    • Help the business understand pricing and margins and advise on ways of maximising potential
    • Accurate reporting of Margin Analysis for month-end reporting
    • Assist in the completion of management presentations to explain month-end performance in relation to pricing and margin and attend monthly business review
    • Discount analysis and margin reporting for use in commission schemes 
    • Maintaining business models for profitability
    • Maintaining Price List for all businesses

    Requirements

    SKILLS and COMPETENCIES

    • Strong excel skills
    • Accuracy and attention to detail
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment 
    • Effective time management skills
    • Drive and motivation
    • Some database knowledge Qlik, Big Query, Data Studio would be beneficial but not essential

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Matric certificate 
    • Finance Degree will be advantageous
    • Unendorsed Valid code 8/10 driver’s licence
    • 5 years Experience as Junior Business Analyst or in a similar role
    • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
    • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with all candidates & key stakeholders
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office (especially Microsoft Excel) and Google suite
    • Ability to work in a hybrid environment
